Picketts Barton Spa is set amid the rolling fields and woods of North Devon. From the moment you arrive you'll feel the peace and calm of this beautiful rural location, with its quarter-acre waterfall-fed lake, quiet woods and clear streams.
The property sits in a secluded spot, with a lookout over treetops and the wide Devon skies. Step inside and you'll be greeted by contemporary interiors and luxurious living spaces.
The living room is filled with a deep corner sofa - just right for sinking into and watching a film at the end of a long day. The kitchen and dining area is high-spec, with all you'll need to prepare everything from your morning coffee to a full evening meal. On warm days, slide open the huge glass doors to let in light and air and feel like you're eating al fresco.
And if you're not in the mood to cook, order in one of the estate's carefully curated hampers. Choose from champagne and chocolates, smoked salmon breakfast goodies, 'G&T with TLC' hamper, and lots more. Or if you're celebrating a special occasion, book the private chef for delicious fine-dining.
Picketts Barton Spa comes with two deluxe bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master bedroom has a super-king bed and ensuite bathroom with a his & hers sink, freestanding bath and walk-in waterfall shower. With sliding doors overlooking the secluded countryside, it's a dreamy spot for a lie-in. The beautifully appointed second bedroom has a double bed, and ensuite bathroom with a walk-in waterfall shower. There's an additional third bathroom with WC and laundry facilities.
Step outside onto the deck and you'll find the star of the show, the indulgent private spa pool. This year-round heated hydrotherapy pool with two jet loungers is filled from a spring-fed borehole and looks out over open meadow. Step straight from bubbles to the adjoining indoor sauna, crafted from Canadian hemlock, for a perfect pampering session.
Outside, the glorious grounds are all yours to explore. Play a round of golf on your very own private 110-yard practice range. Wander across the meadow to the lake, the woodlands and streams. There's birdlife and dragonflies in abundance, and if you're lucky you might spot deer, owls, foxes and other visitors. Sustainability and biodiversity is built-in here - the property is off-grid and powered by solar panels, fresh spring-water feeds the pools, while the grounds are designed to encourage wildlife.
Beyond the estate, the countryside, beaches and coastline of North Devon await, and the village of Fremington and nearby Barnstaple offer a good selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
