Experience absolute privacy at Peak View Retreat, set among 150 acres of native bush near the New Zealand city of Nelson. This luxurious holiday home on the South Island is built on top of a mountain and offers spectacular views across Pepin Island and Cable Bay.

The two storey property is an architectural gem, with its sleek lines, walls of glass, and wooden terraces allowing it to both stand out and conversely blend in with its natural surroundings. Flipped upside down from the traditional setup, the sleeping quarters are found on the ground floor. The two double bedrooms both have en-suite bathrooms with bathtubs and also access to the private outdoor deck.

On the upper level is the large open plan living area. At one end is the fully equipped, modern kitchen, complete with oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker. There is everything needed for guests to create their own culinary delights. These can be eaten at the indoor dining table seating up to six people. The seating area is an amazing space with comfy, L-shaped sofas and natural light flooding in from the walls of windows. For those who want to enjoy a bit of privacy there is also a cosy corner with deep leather armchairs and a flatscreen TV.

Stepping out onto the upper deck, guests can really experience the breathtaking 360 degree views that makes Peak View Retreat truly unique. Out here there is also a barbecue and outdoor dining table and benches for alfresco meals, while those staying can relax even further by sliding into the hot tub that sits on the lower deck outside the master bedroom.

Given its location, the house is perfect for getting out and exploring the bush. There are so many walks and mountain bike trails to discover right on the doorstep, while those with a four-wheel-drive vehicle can also get out and about on the rugged roads. The property is also only 45 minutes from the vibrant region of Nelson. Here those visiting can relax on the golden beaches, or take in a city that has become a magnet for creatives and is brimming with galleries, craft markets, and artisan products.
