Maycroft Retreat is a wonderfully peaceful escape in the May Glen, where two luxurious glamping pods provide stylish accommodation surrounded by the beautiful Perthshire countryside. Wake to horses grazing nearby and hens pottering around, spend lazy evenings soaking in your own private wood-fired hot tub and make time for some serious relaxation at the separate Scottish Wild Spa. With its sauna, cold plunges and aromatherapy hot tub, the spa is a fabulous addition to a stay here, while twin tipis provide a dedicated retreat space for gatherings, events and celebrations.
The two pods each have their own character. White Clover sleeps up to six, with a king size bed, two singles and a sofa bed. Its glazed frontage draws those gorgeous countryside views inside, while soft throws and cushions create a cosy spot for evenings in front of the Smart TV. The deluxe kitchen has everything from a hob and conventional fan oven to a wine fridge, so you can cook up a feast before settling in for the night.
Heather sleeps up to four, with a king size bed and double sofa bed. Its nature-inspired interior is airy and inviting, with a well-equipped kitchenette and a snug living area that's perfect for curling up with a glass of wine. Both pods come with luxury bed linen, robes, slippers and GAIA products, while WiFi keeps you connected when needed.
Outside, each pod has its own private space designed for making the most of the spectacular setting. Fire up the BBQ, hire a pizza oven for homemade pizzas or sink into your wood-fired hot tub as darkness settles over the glen. We spent two nights in the White Clover pod. Denise was so welcoming and helpful, even having the hot tub heated for our arrival which on a cold January day was perfect! The pod had all the comforts you could need, a well stocked kitchen with utensils, cosy blankets to snuggle with, a selection of teas and coffees and gorgeous shower products. The scenery around the pod is beautiful, it was so nice to enjoy morning coffee looking out at the wildlife. The hot tub was easy to use and somewhat protected from the elements with a roof and glass wall partition. The walks around the area were really enjoyable. Also can’t forget to mention Timmy the very friendly sheep who greeted us each morning, my son was quite taken with him! This place is perfect for a quiet getaway and we look forward to returning!

We stayed at the end of September for two nights and it was fab. Location is amazing. You are in the middle of nowhere in this beautiful pod, where you can watch the stars from the hot-tub. We will definitely be back. What made it even more special is that we could take our dogs with us. Definitely a place to visit if you are looking to recharge in a place where you can hear yourself think.
