With space for up to seven guests, Oolert Treehouse is a marvellous getaway in the Powys countryside for families and friends. Tucked away between the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park and the rugged Cambrian Mountains, you’re ideally placed to explore all that this amazing part of Wales has to offer. And after a day exploring your picturesque surroundings, retire back to the peace and tranquillity of the treehouse for a relaxing dip in the hot tub with your loved ones.
The treehouse itself has been lovingly furnished and designed to make the most of the incredible views. The cosy living space, with its big leather sofas and flat screen TV, features a huge sliding glass door that nicely frames the scenery outside and also opens up to allow you to breathe in that fresh country air. In summer you’ll want to spend afternoons lounging out on your private terrace, which features comfy seating and the hot tub. Rest here with a glass of something tasty, enjoying the view, whilst your fellow guests toast marshmallows on the firebowl.
You can also head down below the deck and indulge in the breathtaking views on the luxurious daybed, which is a lovely spot to sit with a good book or a morning coffee if you fancy some alone time.
Back inside, the treehouse features a sleek and stylish kitchen that is nicely equipped with all the fantastic amenities you’ll need for an enjoyable stay. Crisp white marble worktops combine nicely with the deep blue units and the chunky, rustic dining table to create a fantastic place to prepare and enjoy delicious feasts. The kitchen even features a wine fridge, to keep your bottles crisp and cold on hot days.
When the sun sets you can enjoy incredible views of the starry night skies thanks to the lack of light pollution all around you. Then, hop into your comfy bed for a peaceful night’s sleep in one of the two bedrooms. The master bedroom features a king size bed and offers yet more outstanding views thanks to the giant windows at the foot of the bed. The second bedroom features three single beds that can also be set up as a super-king and a single for added flexibility. There’s also a king size sofa bed in the lounge to accommodate two further guests, making the total capacity seven!
When it comes to filling your days you’ll want to explore the beauty of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, where miles of superb hiking trails await. The incredible Cambrian Mountains are also well worth your time and offer yet more spectacular views and bracing walks. You’re also nicely placed to spot the array of wildlife that Radnorshire is famous for. Keep your eyes peeled for the beautiful birds and other wildlife that inhabit the ancient woods around you or watch the sheep grazing in the fields nearby.
If you fancy a bite to eat, you’re just a 10-minute stroll from a local pub, which offers rural charm and a delightful menu that you will love. The area is also home to some charming small villages and towns, the largest of which is Llandrindod Wells, which is known for its Victorian architecture and natural springs. Other notable towns in the area include Builth Wells, Rhayader and Brecon.

Leave a reviewBooked this for my anniversary. Absolutely amazing accommodation in a beautiful quiet location and the host (Emma) was so helpful and accommodating. My car wouldn't start on check out, I was panicking and she put us both at ease and looked after us completely with no stress or hassle. We will definitely be returning as it is such a perfect retreat and we loved our weekend stay. 5 star accommodation.

We stayed here over New Year with our two boys (11 and 14) and it was perfect! The cosiest, most charming self catering we have stayed in. It was beautifully clean and had everything that we needed. The hot tub is larger than at other places we've stayed and it looks out over the most stunning views - as do the downstairs covered lounging area outside and the fire pit. We loved feeling in the middle of nowhere but with good WiFi and lots of different spaces for us to relax separately or together. The host Emma is brilliant, so welcoming, on-hand to answer any questions but never felt intrusive. We highly recommend Oolert, thank you for having us!
