Located on a working farm, with sweeping vistas reaching the battlefield of Bosworth, the Old Tractor Shed is a gorgeous self-catering lodge for couples and individual travellers, available to rent on a self-catered basis. Housed in a building which started out as a tractor storage barn, the Old Tractor Shed benefits from a high-ceilinged open plan interior, exposed original architectural features, and expansive views out over the countryside, making this a restorative and romantic getaway.
The main space is arranged as a kitchen-cum-dining room, with a range of high-end culinary features, comfortable furniture, and pleasing timber and ceramic finishes. You have everything you need to whip up a feast, here, as well as a number of entertainment options and other amenities, including a Smart TV, SONOS music system, and full Wi-Fi throughout. As well as a traditional wood-burning stove, the space is kept snug and cosy with underfloor heating, and as of Summer 2021, guests can expect full air conditioning throughout.
The leather sofa was handmade in Britain, and folds out to create a comfortable sofa-bed, ideal for an additional two guests. Off this space, a pleasing sliding barn-style door reveals the bedroom, with its king-sized ottoman bed, handmade mattress and sleek modern fittings. There is also a TV in this space. The luxury and no-compromise approach to comfort continues in the bathroom with its heated towel rack, fluffy towels and rainfall shower.
Outside the space, the views of the Leicestershire countryside are simply breath-taking, and guests have their choice of seating areas from which to enjoy the rolling hills, farmlands and woodlands. As well as a full outdoor dining furniture suite, there is also a Weber firepit and barbecue, and best of all, a British made wood-fired hot tub, the ultimate way to relax at the end of a long day with a beer, and gaze out over the sunset.
The Old Tractor Shed is located a short stroll from the Ashby canal, making it the ideal starting point for strolls into town, or lengthy hikes following the contours of the waterway. There are a number of fantastic pubs within easy walking reach, offering great local beers, wonderful food, and good cheer in all four seasons. That said, one of the best is also the closest, with the excellent Dog and Hedgehog located just a stone's throw away. Summer 2021 should see plans realised for a pit top path taking guest directly to the pub on their own private walkway. Ideal for a quick pre-dinner pint, or to stumble home from at closing time. As well as the dozens of walking routes in the area, there are a number of culturally and historically significant sites nearby, from the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre to nearby Twycross Zoo. Hiring a canal boat is a brilliant way to explore the waterways.
Or rates are variable and are per night for the property, regardless of number of guests, and include use of the hot tub which is prepared for guest arrival. Pricing and availability can be viewed at https://hallfarmdadlington.co.uk
