The detail

As soon as you see Old Saltings you know you are in for a Cornish treat. This holiday home is positioned directly on the beach with glorious views, meaning you're accompanied by the soothing sound of the sea. Interiors are effortlessly put together and utterly divine. And with beautiful St Ives, with its galleries, independent shops, Blue Flag beaches and restaurants all on your doorstep, it’s an idyllic location.

The open-plan living, dining and kitchen is as lovely as the view that takes centre stage. Light floods in through the wonderfully large windows - open them up and you’re practically sitting on the beach. Although if you’d prefer a comfier spot then the large seat in this beautiful bay window is the perfect place to drink in the view. The interiors are totally self-assured, exuding understated elegance alongside a lighthearted playfulness - with large sofas and unique artwork sitting in perfect harmony with sugar sweet textiles and delightful felted pebble floor cushions.

There’s plenty of room for up to eight people to eat on the large wooden table. And with views out over the bay, it’s a stunning backdrop to any meal - from a family breakfast to a celebratory dinner.

The kitchen is totally unique with pretty turquoise units, large work surfaces and stylish open-shelving. It's really well equipped with Bosch and Miele appliances, a coffee machine and gorgeous St Ives crockery. Practicalities aside, this is also possibly one of the best views you will ever have whilst cooking.

Old Saltings sleeps up to eight in four bedrooms (two Queen bedrooms, one twin/bunk room and a small double in the Zen room). All are perfectly styled - you can expect soft linens, whitewashed stone walls and individual finishing touches. The twin/bunk room is the perfect den for little ones whilst the Zen room offers up a small four foot double at the front of the house that takes in the best of the ocean views. Separated by the main living area by a curtained glass wall, it’s a delightful space.

There are two bathrooms - a large family bathroom and a further ensuite. Both are finished to a high standard with classic black and white tiling.

With a fabulous location in St Ives, you’ll be positioned in one of Cornwall’s most picturesque towns. Home to a thriving art scene means there are plenty of galleries to visit - not least the renowned Tate St Ives. The cobbled streets also offer up plenty of independent shops, cafes and excellent restaurants. And for those wanting to get active, there are numerous beaches offering surfing, walks and plenty of opportunity for sandcastle making.
