This striking, Scandinavian-style lodge is surrounded by the dramatic landscape of a former whinstone quarry. This extraordinary setting and the sharp, contemporary lines of the lodge’s design contrast with the relaxed and calming interior. Open plan living spaces flooded with natural light and a colour palette of tranquil greys and blues make Oat Grass Lodge a haven from busy everyday life. Located just two miles from Bamburgh with pristine white sands and a Norman castle to explore, this is a real family favourite.
The large open plan living space is divided by a fireplace with a wood-burner, above which is a large smart TV. Sink into one of the comfy sofas or armchairs gathered around the fireplace and enjoy a drink and a board game in front of a roaring fire. The kitchen and dining area is bathed in natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the dramatic rockface of the former quarry. This opens out onto an enclosed decking area with a gas barbecue, perfect for taking your meals outside during the warmer months.
Oat Grass Lodge sleeps up to six in three luxurious and beautifully furnished double bedrooms. Each has been decorated with a unique wallpaper, including a playful flamingo design. Two of the bedrooms have king-sized beds while the third features zip and link beds which can be used as twins or a super-king double as required. The two bathrooms are just as tastefully decorated with contemporary fittings and luxurious underfloor heating.
The lodge benefits from a range of additional services to make your holiday completely stress-free. Babysitters and dog sitters can be arranged in case you want to enjoy a romantic evening out and a bespoke wine delivery service is available. A range of beauty and spa treatments can be organised and will come to you so there’s no need to leave the comfort of the lodge. There are also several chefs on hand to provide a catering service for all or part of your stay.
The rural location is ideal for a relaxing break and offers you the chance to reconnect with the outdoors. The nearby village of Bamburgh has local shops, cosy pubs and some great restaurants. The proximity to the sea means you can expect some first-class seafood on the menu. Venture down to the sea and explore this spectacular part of Northumberland’s coastline, overlooked by the stunning Bamburgh Castle.
