Time sensitive - don't hang around...
Listening to the birdsong and looking out over your own butterfly-filled meadow, replete with badgers and deer, you won’t believe you’re just an hour's train ride from central London. The Oakey Koakey Treehouse is a timber escape built on stilts at treetop level, accessed via a wooden land-bridge, and enjoying sweeping views over the surrounding Sussex landscape. With one master bedroom area and a bunk-bed equipped child’s bedroom, Oakey Koakey is the perfect retreat for couples and young families looking for a back-to-nature retreat in the South East. Bask in sun in the spacious, light-filled main room and you won’t be able to keep the smile from your face. Pack a picnic and head into the woods, or snuggle up with a glass of wine and a book as you look out over the meadow.
Cross the wooden drawbridge onto a substantial platform, and enter directly into an open plan lounge-cum-bedroom. Off the main space you’ll find a private kids’ bedroom with a tree theme and artful touches from the owners, and a rainfall-shower equipped bathroom decorated with an extraordinary wall-sized image of a bluebell forest. The amenities of Oakey Koakey offer a unique treehouse holiday, with no compromises on luxury. With a wrap around decking and open plan family area inside, you’ll have an abundance of space in this unique raised den, not far from the Kent border.
Perfectly poised to catch the morning and evening light over Sussex, every moment in Oakey Koakey Treehouse feels like an unforgettable adventure. Cook over the firepit, barbecue, or in the high-end modern kitchen, and relax surrounded by trees and birds. Although dreamt up as the perfect jumping-off spot to explore the woods and meadows, should you stay inside you won’t struggle for indoors activities, with this high-end treehouse boasting two televisions, underfloor heating, and even a phone box library a short walk away.
Oakey Koakey Treehouse sits in the canopy of Downash Wood, just outside Ticehurst in East Sussex. The wood itself comprises four acres of deciduous forest, home to rabbits, birds, butterflies and deer. Ticehurst village is only a short walk away, if you want to pop into a beautiful old village for a pint in one of the historic pubs, or to pick up supper from the butchers. For the outdoorsy, head to Bewl Water Reservoir, and take a 12.5 mile walk or cycle around it, or seek local advice from the tourist centre, accessible via water taxi.
