  The Detail...

Nestled on the outskirts of the small Cornish town of Mawgan Porth are these six eco-friendly cottages; named as one of The Independents top 50 UK breaks. Sitting at the end of a private, wooded lane and just a short walk to a peaceful, golden sandy beach, they are perfect for escaping the holiday crowds with family and friends.

The four and five-star properties have each been finished to an exceptional standard and have wonderful countryside vistas and a contemporary, stylish design. High beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and wooden floors can be found dotted throughout, along with designer furniture, luxury beds and traditional wood-burners. Three of the cottages are even privy to state-of-the-art green technology, including solar-powered hot water and geothermal underfloor heating.

The smallest of the properties is the four-star Daymer cottage which is an intimate space ideal for couples looking for a romantic escape. With its own little kitchen, open plan living/bedroom area and private garden space it has everything you need for a cosy, coastal break.
The Constantine, Porthcothan and Harlyn cottages are a step up in size, with room for four across two sumptuous bedrooms. Large extended living rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offer incredible countryside views from inside, while infra-red heaters keep the courtyard gardens warm all year round. Their added eco-friendly credentials and luxury design make them a real five-star treat in the Cornish countryside.

The five-star Trevone cottage also sleeps up to four people across two deluxe bedrooms and is an impressively finished barn conversion. Detached from the other properties it provides that little bit of extra privacy and has a large garden which is great for the kids.
Finishing off the secluded coastal retreat is the 4-star Treyarnon cottage which has three twin/double bedrooms. Set over two floors, it is the largest of the six properties and has room for up to six in total. A pretty gravelled courtyard with a picnic bench is perfect for listening to the distant sound of the sea, while the communal play area is a haven for the kids.

The Times newspaper named the village of Mawgan Porth as one of the top twenty beach holiday destinations in Europe. And at just a short walk from the cottages, the enchanting golden sands of Mawgan Porth beach will not disappoint. Reached via a scenic wooded lane, the beach is ideal for romantic strolls or fun with kids and is just one of five stunning beaches to be found within five miles of the site. In addition to this, there are an abundance of breath-taking countryside and coastal walks to be enjoyed, along with surfing, horse riding and fine dining delights.
