Merklands Wood Luxury Lodges offers groups of up to six guests a cosy and comfy holiday cabin in the Peeblesshire countryside. These two lodges, which are booked separately, are located in 20 acres of mixed woodland that offers a peaceful paradise for lovers of the great outdoors. Whether you're enjoying an evening in with your loved ones or out exploring the beautiful Scottish Borders, these lodges are sure to be the perfect base for your next escape.
Inside each lodge there are three comfy bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own en suite bathroom for added privacy and a flat screen smart TV for movie nights in bed. There's also a double room with a super king sized bed and a twin room. All three bedrooms are luxuriously furnished to a high standard and ensure that guests can grab a great night's sleep.
The social hub of each lodge is the open plan living area. Think big, super-comfy leather sofas, log burning fireplaces, and plenty of natural light. This is the ideal spot for sitting with a glass of wine in the company of your loved ones. Or, why not head out onto the deck where you can breathe in the fresh country air whilst taking in the view? The hot tub is also located out here, offering you a luxurious place to relax and unwind after a day out exploring. In the mornings the benches outside offer a relaxing place to sit with your cup of coffee plotting the day ahead.
Come dinner time the fully fitted, stylish kitchen is sure to please. It has everything you need to whip up a delicious meal which can be enjoyed by your whole group on the nearby dining table that comfortably seats six. You may wish to enjoy some al fresco cooking, and if you do then you can head outside and fire up the BBQ.
When it comes to things to do, guests at Merklands Wood Luxury Lodges are spoiled for choice. Firstly the surrounding woodland is picturesque and well worth a wander. It's full of native Scottish upland trees and an array of wildlife including a small herd of roe deer that live there. As long as the gates are shut, guests can take dogs into the woods, which provides you with a secure place for your canine companions to run free. Guests also have access to two other fields where you can take the dog or enjoy a ball game with your group. The larger of the fields has free running water so feel free to bring your horse or pony at no extra charge.
If you venture further afield, you have a whole host of places to visit on offer. As well as the Pentland Hills and the Scottish Borders on your doorstep, you're also only 20 minutes from the Edinburgh City by-pass and 45 minutes from Glasgow city centre. Both cities are vibrant and offer a whole host of historical locations, fab shopping opportunities, cracking pubs, and wonderful eateries. The nearest village to your door is West Linton, which is about four miles away. So you can hop on a bike or take a leisurely stroll to the pub and back at your own pace.
