Benefitting from three double bedrooms, Wild Meadow Cottage is an ideal getaway for families and couples looking to get away from it all and spend a long weekend in the beautiful valleys of Wales. With a network of nearby footpaths starting right on your doorstep, and Offa’s Dyke, the ancient boundary between Wales and England, just a stone’s throw away, you’ll find yourself in breathtaking beauty whatever the season of your visit.

The architecture of Wild Meadow Cottage is designed to let in the beauty and rugged tranquillity of the world famous flora and landscape of Radnorshire, while creating a comfortable interior for stargazing and curling up with a book. Set in three acres of private orchards and meadows, the grounds of Wild Meadow Cottage include a kitchen garden where guests are encouraged to pick produce for themselves.

On the ground floor, local timber, whitewashed walls, and big picture windows have been utilised to create an open, light-filled space, characterised by rough wooden finishes. Exposed blonde beams and a beautiful wooden door are the standout features in this room. Expect a well appointed kitchen with an electric cooker, fridge-freezer and microwave, as well as a dishwasher. The solar panels ensure a constant supply of hot water to she shower and the electricity comes from a renewable energy firm, generated off-site. A washer and dryer guarantee that whatever the weather, you’ll be ready to strike out each morning.

Congregate around the woodburning stove in the evening, or recline and watch a film on the DVD player-equipped satellite television. Up the beautifully crafted timber staircase you’ll find the master bedroom, with its own lounge area and private Juliet balcony with views out over the valleys. Next door, a double bedroom comes with an extra single bed, making it a perfect choice for younger families. Cots for babies and toddlers can also be arranged with advance notice.

Given the outstanding natural beauty of the surrounding woods and valleys, most guests choose Wild Meadow Cottage in order to get back to nature and spend some time remote from the hustle and bustle of activity. That said, you won’t find yourself totally isolated, with the amenities of Presteigne town centre nearby. With both an artisanal makers’ market and a farmers’ market, Presteigne is a great place for foodies looking to explore the local cuisine and produce. There is also a brilliant butcher, as well as a fishmonger, deli, bakery and wine bar to round off the day after a visit to the Workhouse Gallery or award winning Judges Lodgings museum.

Stayed here for a weekend in November. What an amazing place. So peaceful and tranquil. Andrea and Johnathan were very welcoming thank you for the apple juice and chocolates on arrival. Didn't want to leave at the end of the weekend. Hope to go back soon.

Fantastic cottage - such a great place to go and chill out for a weekend. We wanted to move in! Andrea is great too - really friendly and welcoming, so it makes for a really pleasant stay :) Planning to try out the Shepherd's Hut next!
