Architect designed, Mayar Bhan is located on the West Coast of Scotland between Ullapool and Gairloch. The house has stunning views over Gruinard Bay and the Summer Isles and is close to the beautiful Mellon Udrigle beach, so if you want an escape from the hustle and bustle of life, this is the ideal spot. Accommodating six guests, the property is finished to a very high standard and is the perfect home-from-home with double glazing and underfloor heating throughout, supplemented by a wood-burning stove to keep you snug. Whether enjoying the outdoors or just relaxing, Mayar Bhan is the perfect base for your holiday.
A large light filled living area, that is comfortably furnished with squashy sofas, boasts stunning views over Gruinard Bay from expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and is a lovely entertaining space in which to watch the TV or chill out with friends.
The kitchen area features a breakfast bar where you can rustle up meals together while plotting your plans for the day. It is well equipped with a tumble dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and everything you need for a comfortable stay and you can enjoy your meals in the sun-warmed glass conservatory.
Downstairs you will find a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, while upstairs is a further double bedroom plus a twin room, both of which feature balconies to further enjoy the views and ensuite shower rooms. All are comfortably furnished in rustic colours and materials and provide ample storage. The relaxing ambience will welcome you home after a day of exploring.
Mayar Bhan sits in approximately one acre of private fully enclosed garden which is laid mainly to grass with decking on both sides of the house. Outdoor wooden furniture and a BBQ are provided so that you can make the most of the views while dining alfresco. A large lockable shed is provided for the storage of bikes and outdoor equipment.
The home is close to many outstanding beaches. Mellon Udrigle and Little Gruinard are both just 10 minute drives from the house and both are utterly fantastic. You may also wish or try the boat trips which are available locally. There are many walks around Mayar Bhan to suit all energy levels and abilities, all of which offer amazing views and breathtaking landscapes including some of the finest Munros in Scotland. Pony trekking is also available on the beautiful Red Point beaches, with breathtaking scenery all around. There are also several excellent cafés, restaurants, shops and art galleries in the local area, and the fantastic National Trust Inverewe Gardens and Corrieshalloch Gorge locations are well worth a visit.

It was the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the rugged beauty of the northwest coast. I'll never forget those peaceful mornings, sipping tea and soaking up the tranquillity.
