A rustic retreat with its own pool and spa, Masia Gravat is easy to reach, just 12km from the wonderful city of Girona. Full of character and enjoying some beautiful views, the house dates back to the 13th century and combines antique style with modern amenities in a holiday home for up to 18 guests.
The house is built around a courtyard where vines are planted, offering shade when the weather is sunny. There is a large dining table in this area, and a barbecue with a fridge nearby in a small utility room. A terrace looks out over the 10m x 5m swimming pool, which is another of this property’s highlights.
On one of the upper levels of the house, you will also find a spa room, with beautiful views of the valley. Including a sauna and steam room, you can spend as long as you like in this completely private wellness area.
From the house’s main entrance, you enter the beautiful hall with antique furniture, evoking the days of the 1200s, when the Viscount of Cabrera used Masia Gravat as his fortress. At the back of the room, an archway leads you to a living room with a pool table and flatscreen TV.
The kitchen continues the old-school style but it has all the conveniences you may need, including an electric oven, juicer and coffee maker. There is even an antique bread oven that runs on firewood.
You have a choice of seven bedrooms at Masia Gravat, including four doubles. There is lots of flexibility within these rooms, with two interconnecting rooms ideal for children or a small family, and two joined by a staircase which have five single beds between them. The house has a total of six bathrooms.
On the upper floor, there is another terrace from where you can enjoy the best views. This serene spot also makes a great place just to relax and appreciate the peace and quiet of the area.
You won’t go hungry at Masia Gravat, as the owner’s restaurant and café is a short walk from the property. In addition to great value meals, guests can play tennis for free at the restaurant's two tennis courts, and enjoy table tennis and table football in the play area. When you’re ready to hit the city, Girona never disappoints. Full of art and architectural treasures, a good way to get your bearings is with a guided walk along the city walls – the view from above will make you eager to discover more.
