Tucked into a peaceful Devon valley beside the tranquil waters of a scenic fishing lake, these stunning Luxury Cocoons offer a one-of-a-kind glamping experience in an extraordinary setting. The only place in the UK where you’ll find these unique hideaways, each Cocoon sits right on the lakeside, blending wild beauty with modern luxury.
The Luxury Cocoons are located in Clawford Lakes, which is a charming estate that’s only 30 minutes away from the bustling Cornwall seaside resort of Bude.
With soaring steel frames, curved canvas walls and sweeping glass fronts, the Cocoons bring the outside in - flooding your space with natural light by day and glowing softly under the stars at night. Inside, there's space for up to five guests to unwind in total comfort, with cosy beds, hot and cold air conditioning, plush furnishings and a freestanding roll-top bath that takes glamping to another level.
The star of the show, however, is your expansive private deck that overlooks the lake. This is the perfect place to socialise in summer, enjoying alfresco dining, sunset drinks and dreamy views across the water. You’ll also have your own private fire pit with a swing-arm BBQ, perfect for relaxed evenings under the sky. So light the fire and toast marshmallows as you unwind in peace with the stars coming out above.
Back inside, the open-plan living arrangement makes the space feel effortlessly sociable, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a central double bed all within the curving canvas walls. Each Cocoon also comes with its own fishing swim - just grab a pass and you can cast off just metres from your front door.
When night falls, the Cocoons sleep five guests with two sleeping in the central double bed, a sofa bed that sleeps two and room for an extra Z bed for a fifth guest. This sleeping arrangement is ideal for couples on a romantic retreat alone or families with younger children who are happy to share the open-plan living space.
During your stay, enjoy access to superb on-site facilities, including the exclusive lakeside pool and spa. With a heated indoor pool and steam room overlooking peaceful valley views, it’s the perfect place to unwind - no booking needed, just check times on arrival. Dine at the Apple and Grape, the relaxed restaurant and bar with a stylish indoor/outdoor terrace. Anglers will love the on-site tackle shop, open daily 8–10am and stocked with top gear. Whether relaxing, fishing or exploring, there’s something for everyone.
Tucked into a quiet Devon valley, Clawford Lakes is a dream for fishing enthusiasts. With private lakes exclusively for guests, you can cast off in total tranquillity, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Try stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking on the leisure lake for a peaceful splash on the water.
If you're up for exploring, North Devon is packed with wild coastline, golden beaches and scenic moorland. Stroll the cliffs of the South West Coast Path, surf Woolacombe or Croyde, or uncover hidden coves along Hartland. Inland, Exmoor National Park offers dramatic trails and wildlife-rich walks. You’re also only 30 minutes from the amazing Cornish surfing town of Bude.
