The details

Perched high in the beautiful Suckley Hills, Lower Tundridge Cottage is a spectacular countryside retreat where up to 16 guests can gather in style. Surrounded by the rolling landscapes of the Malvern Hills National Landscape, this wonderfully converted traditional farm building combines huge, sociable spaces with exposed oak beams, vaulted ceilings and far-reaching rural views. Add a private hot tub on the terrace and a fabulous three-sided log burner and you have a superb setting for memorable celebrations, family get-togethers and weekends away with friends.

The heart of the cottage is its impressive open plan kitchen, dining and living space, designed so the whole gang can spend quality time together without ever feeling crowded. Sink into the deep sofas beside the log burner after a day exploring the hills or gather around the enormous dining table for long, laughter-filled dinners that stretch late into the evening. The kitchen makes catering for a crowd easy, with two ovens, a combination microwave, induction hob, dishwasher and plenty of preparation space. There’s also a galleried mezzanine overlooking the main living area, offering another lovely spot in which to relax.

When it’s time for bed, six generous bedrooms provide plenty of space for couples and families to retreat. Two are family rooms, each featuring a king size bed and a double bed, while the remaining rooms offer comfortable double or king size beds. One of the real standouts is the characterful oast house suite, where a round bed sits beneath a gorgeous brick-vaulted ceiling. Most bedrooms are ensuite and the bathrooms are suitably indulgent, with features including power showers, rainfall shower heads, a steam shower and a designer bath.

Outside, the private hot tub awaits on the terrace, giving you a blissful place to soak together as the sun sinks over the countryside. The garden offers more room to unwind in the fresh air and dogs are welcome too, so nobody needs to miss out on the adventure. Come winter, head back inside, light the log burner and settle in for a wonderfully cosy evening while the countryside outside disappears into darkness.

You’ll find fantastic walking right from the doorstep, with the Worcestershire Way passing nearby and the Suckley Hills offering woodland trails and beautiful ridge walks. Venture further to explore the Malvern Hills, Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve or the Wye Valley. Great Malvern is also within easy reach for independent shops, cafés and its famous theatre, while Worcester and Hereford make great day trips. Country pubs, farm shops and local vineyards provide plenty more excuses to get out and explore.
