Magnificent and imposing, Lower Arthur's is a large stone built house in Greenfield, Saddleworth in Greater Manchester, available for groups of up to seven guests looking for luxurious self-catered accommodation within easy reach of the train station.

This Grade II listed building offers spacious interiors as well as private garden space. Lower Arthur's is a three bedroom, two and a half bathroom house which combines historic architecture with contemporary comfort and entertainment systems, resulting in a luxurious space which remains popular with families and groups of friends alike.

Internally, the house has been designed in a classy Scandinavian style, with neutral tones and a handful of judiciously chosen art pieces bringing a certain sophistication to the space. Downstairs, the living room boasts low sofas for the whole group, and is kept cosy by a central wood-burning stove. There is also a useful boot room/utility room/toilet on the ground floor, fully equipped with a washing machine and dryer. On the same floor you'll find the ultra-modern fitted kitchen, offering the standard amenities, ample preparation surfaces, and even a world-class wine fridge, ideal for entertaining, or eating together as a group rather than heading out to dinner. The cosy dining table is spacious and centrally located, although in the warmer months guests tend to prefer eating outside, where a long table has been arranged with outdoor seating.

In the spacious garden, there really is nothing like tucking into a home-cooked meal with your closest friends or family under the Saddleworth sky. This space also contains a gas firepit surrounded by cushions and blankets, ideal for a pre or post dinner drink and chat and the luxurious hot tub. There’s also a huge gas BBQ for instant convenience and a dog sink with warm water outside to clean off muddy paws.

The primary bedroom occupies the entire first floor, and comes with a magnificent en suite bathroom, as well as a dressing area, and a super-king sized bed which can also be equipped with two single duvets. The second bedroom has another versatile super-king bed below a double height ceiling, and the third bedroom offers both a day bed and a pull out bed, as well as a third bed up on a small mezzanine above the main space.

Both of these bedrooms share a 'Jack and Jill' bathroom. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all equipped with sumptuous handmade pocket sprung mattresses, even on the 3 single beds, luxurious 800 thread count bedding, luxury soft extra-large towels and hand towels, super soft dressing gowns, slippers and spa towels for outside.

The house is located in Saddleworth, a commuter area for both Manchester and Leeds, which remains popular with locals and tourists alike. You can be in City Centre Manchester within just 30 minutes, should you fancy a spot of shopping in Harvey Nichols or sophisticated dining in places such as The Ivy or 20 Stories.

You're ideally located, just a five minute walk from the train station, and in a prime spot to take advantage of the numerous bars, cafes, eateries and independent shops in Uppermill and Greenfield, which give the area such a buzz. Saddleworth has numerous festivals and events throughout the year, so be sure to check in advance what will be going on during your stay. Besides the theatres in Manchester, there is also the excellent theatre in Delph, plus a chip shop less than two minutes' walk from the house. For finer dining without straying far, check out The White Hart at Lydgate or The Old Bell Inn. You're also ideally located for climbing and hiking enthusiasts to get out to the hills and endless countryside walking options where you can go direct from the door.
