A stay at East Lodge comes with entrance to the Longleat attractions for each day of your visit on open dates, giving you unlimited access to one of the UK’s most extraordinary estates. Whether it’s the Safari Park, the magnificent House or the sprawling landscaped grounds, you’ll be right at the heart of the action while enjoying the comfort of a beautiful historic property.
East Lodge occupies one half of the iconic Grade I listed Horningsham Lodge, the grand south entrance to Longleat Park. Designed in 1761 and later remodelled by Sir Jeffry Wyatville to echo the style of Longleat House, the Lodge was built to impress. Passing through its arched gateway, visitors were treated to a carefully choreographed view of the great house, stage-managed by the legendary landscape designer ‘Capability’ Brown. Today, you have the unique opportunity to stay in this historic gatehouse and soak up its grandeur first-hand.
Inside, East Lodge has been sensitively renovated to create a welcoming retreat. The interiors combine historic charm with modern comfort, from the snug lounge where you can unwind after a day in the park, to the open-plan kitchen with dining space that makes cooking and gathering easy. The accommodation sleeps up to four, with a super-king bedroom on the ground floor (which can be set as twins) and a second-floor twin room (which can be arranged as a double). The bathroom is fitted with an over-bath shower, and there are all the kitchen essentials you need including an oven, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher.
Step outside to your large private garden with outdoor seating, where you can relax with morning coffee, a long lunch in the sunshine or evening drinks under the stars. Beyond your doorstep, the estate’s wonders await. Stroll along the Pleasure Walk, where sculptures and seasonal flora line the path, or hike up to Heaven’s Gate to take in one of the most breathtaking views in Wiltshire.
As well as the unique setting, your stay includes a continental breakfast on your first morning and discounted purchases across shops and restaurants within the park. East Lodge is more than a place to stay – it’s a gateway into Longleat’s history, landscape and wildlife, offering a truly memorable escape.
