Perched on the Limepark Estate, and enjoying the fabulous views, greenery and landscapes, Little Pigs' House is a charming and picturesque cottage-style house. This holiday home has been converted from a historic building and is available for couples or individual travellers to rent on a self-catered basis. Combining beautiful old craftsmanship and design with judicious contemporary touches, Little Pigs' House is the ultimate retreat for couples who enjoy the outdoors but don't want to compromise on the aesthetics of their surroundings.
Stepping inside Little Pigs' House is like stepping into a different world. The original thick stone walls remain, and subtle, neutral wood and glass have been added, creating a unique space which manages to feel both grand and comfortable. Throughout, the interior of the house is bathed in light from the windows which look out over the estate. Overhead, timber beams and boards combine grandeur and modernity, while everything from the cabinets and bathroom fittings to the Croft bed and tile flooring are all beautifully designed to remain loyal to the house's architectural origins.
The kitchen space has everything you'll need to prepare hearty breakfasts, romantic evening meals and light picnics to take out with you into Ballycastle, all contained among wood, stone and glass. Stepping outside, guests will be delighted to learn that they have their own enclosed garden, safely fenced off to allow parents and pet owners peace of mind. Adjoining the same space there is a modest patio which benefits from long daily light, set up with outdoor dining furniture creating a lovely spot for your morning cup of coffee or a shared meal in the evening.
Despite being a one bedroom cottage, the house is large enough that couples are often quite content to spend their holiday time pottering around the house, garden and wider Limepark estate. Mornings and evenings are spent taking in the sun, the beauty and the history of this remarkable estate, whose architecture, horticulture and landscaping have long been the pride of this region.
Guests staying at Little Pigs' House are ideally located to take in the attractions of the area, including the Giant's Causeway, the famous Bushmills Distillery, and Dunluce Castle. Guests are also encouraged to visit Rathlin Island, the only inhabited offshore island off Northern Ireland, steeped in history from the Vikings and Robert the Bruce to the First World War. It is also a must-see for any birdwatching enthusiasts, on account of its colonies of rare and interesting seabirds. Closer to home, guests ought to see the Dark Hedges, an avenue of Beech trees planted by James Stuart in 1775, visited by a ghost and featured in the Game of Thrones.
