The detail

Little Burpham Cottage has all you need for the ultimate cosy and relaxing country escape. A 16th century Grade II listed building, the cottage has been beautifully renovated to the highest standard, making the most of its period features, while injecting some contemporary touches for modern living. Sleeping up to five guests, this West Sussex haven is ideal for families, couples or small groups. And thanks to its exceptional location, guests can amble around the gorgeous local countryside, explore the historic town of Arundel or even head to one of the many nearby beaches.

Low, beamed ceilings, exposed brick walls and wood-framed windows are just some of the charming touches Little Burpham Cottage has to offer. This thatch cottage has two bedrooms - one with a kingsize bed and twin pull-out that is ideal for young kids/little ones, and the other with a double bed. There is a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, complete with a fabulous welcome basked of local produce, as well as a snug living space to sink into on a cosy evening in. The bathroom features a modern rainfall shower, perfect for relaxing under after a local country walk. The large private garden comes with outdoor dining furniture for those al fresco meals, as well as a hammock to doze in during the summer months.

Located in the South Downs village of Burpham, there is plenty to see and do in the local area. Just minutes away you'll find the historic market town of Arundel, home to Arundel Castle, a vast array of boutique shops, eateries and pubs, as well as the River Arun. Hikers and keen cyclists are spoilt for choice with routes and paths spanning the South Downs National Park very easily accessible. Guests also have access to miles of stunning coastline and beaches, such as West Wittering which is just a short drive away. Other local towns to venture to include Chichester, Petworth and Brighton and Hove, each offering its own unique taste of Sussex life.

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage and highly recommend a visit. It's in a beautiful location - so private and tranquil. The garden is lovely, we sat outside for a glass of wine during the early evening (we stayed at the start of October and the weather was good). There are some good walking routes right outside the door. The owners are very helpful and friendly, and the cottage is very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need. The beds are comfy and there's a wonderful shower - perfect after a long day's walking!
