L’hort de Son Grua

Tucked away in the beautiful Vall d’en Marc on the island of Mallorca, this luxurious villa offers a peaceful escape for families or small groups of friends. L’Hort de Son Grua is set just 10 minutes from the charming town of Pollensa, surrounded by rugged mountain scenery and with its own large garden. Enjoy breakfast out on the stylish terrace with its kitchen and dining area before wandering down to the pool to relax with a book. Spend a sunny afternoon strolling through the narrow streets of the historic Pollensa before a scenic drive out to Cap de Formentor, the northernmost point of the island. Head back to the villa for an evening cocktail at the bar and a BBQ out on the terrace.

L’Hort de Son Grua is a blend of a traditional Spanish villa - with beautiful shutters, iron railings along the upstairs balcony, exposed brick and wooden beams - and contemporary interior design. Relax in the open-plan living area that leads through to a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a dishwasher and a coffee machine. There’s a second comfy living area if you fancy a bit of down time with a book.

There are three bedrooms, each featuring super-king size beds and air conditioning to keep you comfortable at night. Two of the bedrooms have ensuites, while the third also has its own dedicated bathroom. You’ll find a nursery with air conditioning and a bathroom on the upper floor with a cot or bed for a child and a sofa bed that might be handy for parents. There's also an annexe, separate from the main building, that sleeps an additional two guests, taking the total to eight. The annexe has an open plan kitchen and open plan sleeping area as well as a full bathroom with a separate bath and shower. There are also stairs leading up to a lounge space with a TV and two armchairs so you can relax and unwind in peace.

The large terrace has recently been renovated and now has an outdoor kitchen and dining area that can accommodate up to 10 guests with stunning views of the surrounding valley. There’s a covered area with seating and a bar, perfect for a glass of wine in the evening while something sizzles away on the gas BBQ. Head down through the garden and you’ll find the swimming pool in a separate area offering a bit of privacy. The pool can be heated in the cooler months for an additional charge and there are loungers and umbrellas waiting for you.

While the villa feels secluded, it’s just a 10-minute drive to the historic town of Pollensa. Explore the charming streets, head up the Calvari Steps for panoramic views and learn about its rich history dating back thousands of years. If you want to explore more of the stunning natural landscape, the S’Albufera Nature Reserve is home to a wide range of flora and fauna and there are some stunning hiking and cycling routes up in the mountains offering views of the sea and back across the island. For a day by the water, there are sandy beaches at Puerto Pollensa and Cala Sant Vicenç where you can try some water sports or just lie back and relax.
