Perched high above a green valley and boasting sweeping views over the magnificent landscape of rural Northumberland, Laverick Cottage is a robust and regal three bedroom cottage, ideal for groups of friends or families looking to spend some time around Hadrian's Wall. With its historic architecture, enviable hillside position and contemporary amenities throughout, Laverick Cottage is a real delight to stay in, and makes it for the perfect home away from home for hikers, foodies, young families and outdoors enthusiasts alike.

The classic country-style kitchen is one of the highlights of the property, well equipped with a large American-style fridge freezer, ultra-modern electric range, and high-spec appliances. Arranged around a large central island, the kitchen is a sociable, open plan space which also encompasses the dining room area with its eight seater table, just made for enjoying relaxed evening meals.

French doors lead from the kitchen space out onto the patio and garden, which face south to make the most of long sunny summer evenings. On the terrace you'll find a wooden table and chairs, the perfect spot to sit with your morning coffee, or a 6pm sundowner, and take in those awesome views.

You can also access the garden via the lounge, an ultra-comfortable space which guests tend to make for after dinner to enjoy the toasty warmth of the wood-burning stove, and read, play games, or simply chat on the low-slung sofas.

The first bedroom is on the ground floor, making this a good choice for parties where a guest has limited mobility, and features a super-king sized bedroom which can be divided into twin singles, and an en suite shower room.

Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms, one with extraordinary views through the picture window, a versatile super-king/ twin single bed set up, and an en suite with a magnificent roll-top bath tub. The other bedroom is a twin and also has a private shower-room, and south facing views. All of the beds benefit from deep mattress toppers, Egyptian cotton bedlinen and luxury pillows, while the towels are all fluffy, white and decadent.

Rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see, with a network of bridle paths, hiking trails and cycle routes snaking across it. Whether you're into ancient history, hiking, fishing, or country pubs, Laverick Cottage is the perfect spot for you. Take the hike to Vindolanda, the historic Roman fort on Hadrian's wall, head down to the pretty market town of Hexham, or make the day trip to Newcastle and take in the shopping, eating and culture there. There are also miles of sparsely populated coastline within easy driving distance.
