Eight authentic, Mongolian yurts in rural Lanzarote, with luxury home comforts and a beachfront location...
Head off the beaten track and away from Lanzarote’s bustling tourist hot spots and with a little bit of help you’ll find your own secret, sea view hang-out. With a tranquil position on Lanzarote’s stunning rural coastline, Finca De Arrieta is a beautiful, unspoilt treasure. Surrounded by gorgeous gardens, dramatic mountains and magical seascapes, the untouched beauty of the Northern tip is destined to blow you away.
Finca De Arrieta is an eco-friendly estate that has a special selection of luxury properties including eight authentic, Mongolian Yurts. Scattered across 30,000 metres of rugged, natural farmland, each yurt offers its own glimpse across the captivating island. Using renewable energy sources to encourage green ways of living, you can even enjoy hot water and electricity thanks to the wind turbines and solar panels.
The eight unique yurts have a charming location with magnificent views of the ochre mountains and crystal-clear sea waters. Fitted with antique Mongolian furniture and sumptuous bedding, they are each Moroccan-inspired retreats with no compromise on comfort. Each yurt even has its own private kitchen and bathroom facilities that boast granite worktops, cooking gadgets and lashings of hot water.
The smallest yurts are designed for romantic getaways and are cosy, little snugs that have plenty of character. Choose the Eco Palm Yurt for its rich Moroccan colours or the Eco Chico Yurt for its palm tree shower. A larger Eco Yurt also gives couples room to spread out and has pink satin interiors for that added touch of decadence.
For groups of up to four, there are the quirky Eco Twin and Eco Chiquitita Yurts that have two separate bedrooms in adjacent pod dwellings. The Eco Luxury Yurt Suite is also ideal for four and has a super-king size bed and two additional singles. Spacious and well-appointed, it is an exquisite property that has handpicked furniture and designer touches.
To get room for up to six, choose the Eco Beach Yurt which has two adjacent yurts and a separate living pod. Complete with vintage Indonesian furniture and plenty of room, it is perfect for groups of friends or larger families. If you want to go all out then the Eco Yurt Royale is a must and has room for up to six across three indulgent bedrooms. With two super-king size beds and two single mattresses, it is the ultimate glamping yurt for all of the family.
Beyond your own private garden there are a selection of deluxe shared facilities, including a solar heated lap pool and a chill-out lounge with Wi-Fi access. A larger, well-equipped kitchen is also here for everyone to share along with a covered dining terrace and kids play area.
If you want to explore this idyllic part of the island then there is plenty to enjoy in the local area. A small, sandy cove is just 200 metres from the estate, while a larger beach can also be found at the far end of Arrieta village. Just a 10 minute walk away and with a timeless charm, the pretty fishing village has seafront restaurants and bars. Try out the exhilarating water sports or take a walk into the mountains, before seeing the famous Timanfaya National Park and its volcanic backdrop.

We spent two nights of our week-long honeymoon in Lanzarote at the fabulous eco village. Having met owners Michelle and Tila, who provided us with great information about this hidden gem, we couldn't wait to see what it had to offer and stayed in the Eco Chiquitita Yurt. Our yurt was quite simply stunning. It was spacious, immaculate and had everything we needed for our stay. Complete with a covered outdoor kitchen and seating area, toilet, shower, smaller yurt next door if you have children, and a hammock, we were blown away by the location, views and hospitality. We were made incredibly welcome by Tila, Michelle, their lovely family, staff and equally welcoming guests. Nothing was too much trouble and we particularly liked the idea of the 'honesty shop', which enabled you to pick up any items you needed before settling your bill at the end of your stay. We even planted our own cactus in the cactus garden within the grounds of the eco village, which is started again each year and guests can track their progress on each visit. The paella evening was a real delight too. Freshly-made paella is available to guests for 15 Euros per person, including drinks, and enabled us to socialise with the other guests, and find out more about Lanzarote Retreats. The location is just a short walk to the beach, local shops and restaurants, and you can use an electric car to see more of the island, or make the most of the lovely walking routes nearby. This two-night stay honestly made our week one which we will treasure forever and we will certainly be back! Thank you Tila, Michelle and your wonderful family and friends for making us so welcome, and for showing us what the real Lanzarote has to offer. Katy & Simon Stevens - Stayed January 2019
