La Fraissinède is a luxury, country estate where you can experience a five-star service amongst breath-taking landscapes. Set on the edge of Montlaur village in the sun-drenched South of France, it is an impressive house brimming with a vintage romance. Admire its ancient, rural charm and its lush, landscaped grounds, basking in the natural beauty of this true paradise-found. Explore Languedoc’s wild, open valleys and picture-perfect villages, framed by the majestic Pyrenees and sublime, sandy beaches.
The 18th century house is a converted wine store, set in 120 acres of beautiful, country gardens. Rescued from ruin and now expertly restored, it is an exclusive residence that has its own professional, live-in staff. Socialise in its massive living spaces or in its intimate snugs, celebrating special occasions or relaxing with loved ones. There’s a heated outdoor pool and full-size tennis courts, beside sheltered verandas and sun-scorched courtyards.
The main farmhouse building has been creatively designed to fuse original character with a contemporary style. There’s rustic, wooden beams and a sweeping, open atrium, along with sleek tiles, modern artwork and handpicked antique pieces. Relax in the elegant sitting rooms with their roaring, open fires, or in the cosy games room or fumoir cinema cubby. A professional kitchen is perfect for gourmet-inspired dishes, while doors flood out onto the alfresco dining terraces.
Upstairs, you’ll find four sumptuous double bedrooms finished with deluxe king-size beds and marble en-suite bathrooms. Each has designer furnishings and captivating garden views and is brimming with a mix of glamourous in-room tubs and decadent dressing rooms. A further two doubles are settled in the garden wing, complete with en-suite bathrooms and sink-in furnishings. Out in the grounds, you’ll even find a separate 2-bed apartment, ideal for small families or as private staff lodgings.
If you can tear yourself away from the tranquillity of your house then there is plenty to do in the fertile Languedoc countryside. Walk along the Grand Randonnèes trails or cycle through the stunning Aude routes, stopping off at pristine waterfalls and tasting the gourmet, local produce. There’s the incredible Narbonne food market and a wealth of award-winning Corbières vineyards, along with the golden, sandy beaches of Leucate and Gruissan. The cultural city of Carcassonne is also a must to visit, while the dramatic Pyrenees slopes are a mecca for ardent skiers.
