Kingshill Farmhouse has access to the 3,300 acres of wilderness that make up Elmley Nature Reserve. The Reserve is a habitat for many different species of birds, plants, rare invertebrates and mammals. Catch a glimpse of birds of prey soaring overhead or hares leaping across the meadows. The ponds provide a home to many water birds and if you visit in the summer you might be lucky enough to catch some of the chicks born in the spring tentatively taking to the skies for the first time.
If you want to venture further afield, the Isle of Sheppey is well worth exploring. You can be on Minster beach in just 15 minutes in the car. Head back to the mainland and spend an afternoon exploring the marvellous, historic city of Canterbury, the charming seaside town of Whitstable, or the fantastic Leeds Castle. Or why not take in the spectacular views along Saxon Shore Way?
From £160 for room and £1200 for whole house, based on a 2 night stay.

We stayed at the Kingshill Farmhouse on the Elmley Nature Reserve in early December 2019. The farmhouse has been recently renovated and it was a superb choice for a big family party (ten adults and four children) spread over a long weekend. Even in the house we never felt cramped and of course there is a fantastic area for walking that really is on your doorstep. The kitchen was brilliantly equipped for self-catering (three ovens, two dishwashers!), there were three sitting rooms for people who wanted to do their own thing, a dining room that would seat twelve, and stunning bedrooms with luxurious bathrooms en-suite. We were all impressed by the attention to styling and detail and the owners had paid. We were unable to find fault with this wonderful place.
