The detail

Kingshill Farmhouse is a spectacular holiday home tucked away on the Elmley Nature Reserve. With sweeping views over the reserve and the surrounding countryside, you and your loved ones can relax in a truly tranquil and beautiful setting.

This beautiful 18th-century farmhouse can sleep up to 14 guests in four luxurious ensuite bedrooms and a two-bedroom family suite on the top floor. From the cosy library to the grand drawing-room, the Farmhouse can provide for all occasions.

Guests will love the social spaces throughout this marvellous home, with the downstairs featuring three comfy sitting rooms (including the drawing room and library) where you can spread out and rest up in style. Get comfy on a big sofa with a good book or settle in for an evening with wine and good conversation in a cosy lounge with your loved ones.

The downstairs also features a huge kitchen, kitted out with modern amenities to ensure your designated chef has all they need to whip up a delicious feast for the group. Once dinner’s ready, enjoy it in the marvellous dining room, with space for your whole group to settle in for meals that stretch long into the night. There’s also a breakfast room area that’s ideal for snacks, quick lunches and tasty breakfasts with steaming mugs of hot coffee.

When bedtime beckons, the first floor features four ensuite bedrooms that each sleep two. The first bedroom features a king size bed and the other three are all super-kings, and they each offer a mixture of rainfall showers or freestanding bathtubs in their stylish, luxurious ensuite bathrooms.

Then, on the second floor, sits the family suite, which is home to a double bedroom that features a super-king size bed which can also be made up as twins and a second bedroom with two full-size bunk beds that are ideal for kids. Guests staying in the family suite also have access to a shared bathroom on a spacious landing that features a shower over the bath.

Kingshill Farmhouse also has a fantastic garden with big, free-flowing lawns and some fantastic outdoor dining furniture where you can sit and enjoy an alfresco meal. There's also a BBQ should you wish to grill up some tasty local produce. And, as the evening draws in, you can light the firepit, grab a blanket and toast marshmallows under the stars.

During your stay the friendly, experienced team can help make your days extra special by arranging a number of fabulous extras for you. These include wildlife experiences, bird watching tours, wellness treatments, along with activities such as yoga, wine tasting, candle making and painting. Additionally, you can self-cater your stay or the team can organise meals for some or all of your stay. These range from relaxed family suppers to formal three course dinners with a private chef!

Guests also have access to the Elmley Nature Reserve which is an essential habitat for many over-wintering and breeding birds. Venture out onto one of the trails and you might catch a glimpse of some rare water birds exploring the ponds or a bird of prey swooping overhead. Hares are regularly spotted leaping across the meadows and a huge variety of other small mammals and insects can be found enjoying the wetlands and wildflowers.

Elmley Nature Reserve is located on the Isle of Sheppey and there’s plenty of exploring to do should you want to venture into the local area. Spend a day on Sheerness Beach or head back to the mainland to wander along the beautiful cliffs of Saxon Shore Way.
