You should know
- Dogs are welcome but are not allowed on furniture or in bedrooms and on beds in the lodge.
- Kekaroka Lodge is surrounded by fields and from 1 April to 1 December are grazed by sheep and lambs. It is very important that dogs are kept on a lead when walking through the fields.
- There is another lodge close by but guests at Kekaroka Lodge are still afforded plenty of privacy during their stay.

Kekaroka Lodge is a peaceful cabin for two offering couples a romantic retreat in the heart of the North Pennines National Landscape. This charming and cosy lodge has a warm and cosy interior and a spacious outside deck where you can sit and take in the incredible views from the comfort of your own private hot tub.
As you arrive you’ll be in awe of the amazing vista that stretches out as far as the eye can see. Drop your bags off, pour yourself a coffee and sit on the private balcony gazing out over the Scottish hills and Lake District mountains. The private deck features a comfy alfresco sofa for lazy summer afternoons and also has a quaint outdoor dining table for two, should you wish to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the fresh country air.
Stepping inside, the lodge has a lovely open plan living area. Here you’ll find a big comfy sofa facing out the sliding glass doors, allowing you to enjoy the view from the warmth of inside the lodge. The living area also has a fantastic wood-burner to keep you cosy no matter the weather outside and a Smart TV for movie nights and box-set marathons.
The modern kitchen is nicely equipped for preparing meals and also has a dishwasher so no one’s lumbered with the washing up. And when dinner’s ready you can enjoy it on the outdoor dining table or on the dining table inside.
The marvellous bedroom guarantees a peaceful night’s sleep with its fabulous king size bed and an indulgent free-standing bathtub where you can enjoy an indulgent soak after a day exploring the area. You also have a modern bathroom in the lodge with a shower.

An unforgettable stay in a truly magical place! The view from Kekaroka Lodge is absolutely breathtaking – one of the most stunning we’ve ever seen. You can even see all the way across to Scotland! We were lucky to experience a beautiful sunset, and later relax in the hot tub under a sky full of stars. Simply wonderful. The little lodge is so thoughtfully and lovingly furnished – everything you could possibly need is there. The crackling fireplace made the atmosphere even more special and cozy. We felt completely at home and truly cared for. Andrea is such a warm and kind-hearted person. When our dog wasn’t feeling well, she helped us immediately with medication, a heat lamp, and even the contact of a local vet. Her care and compassion meant so much to us. We will definitely be back – this was a very special and unforgettable experience. Thank you for everything!
