Jules is a beautifully designed lodge with a stylish open plan interior and large outdoor space with seating, BBQ and alfresco dining. It has access for wheelchair users and is a pet free lodge, making it a good choice for anyone with mobility issues, and those with allergies. The lodge sleeps up to six and would suit a family or group of friends seeking a relaxing and luxurious stay in nature.
The Scandinavian design of the lodge provides a spacious, light and airy interior with plenty of room to unwind in comfort. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is beautifully presented with full height sliding glass doors across the whole front of the lodge allowing the sun to stream in and providing lovely views of the surrounding trees, nature and the lake.
The living area has a large comfy sofa and several well placed armchairs where you can chill in the evenings by the stylish wood burner whilst you watch a movie on the Smart TV, play some board games or just put your feet up with a good book.
The kitchen is modern, sleek and has an island where you can prepare meals, grab a quick breakfast or linger with a cocktail whilst someone else chops the veg. Feast at the cosy dining table for six or slide open the glass doors and dine alfresco beneath the stars with nature all around you.
The hosts have provided a BBQ if you fancy a more informal meal. As well as an outdoor dining table you'll find comfortable rattan furniture where you can relax, and with its elevated position you'll have wonderful views over the lake. If you want to end the day in proper indulgence, grab a bottle of fizz and climb into the wood-fired hot tub where you can let the warm bubbles ease away all your cares.
There are three luxurious bedrooms sleeping up to six in total. The main bedroom has its own stylish ensuite with a large shower cubicle and heated towel rails to keep everything fluffy and warm. The other two bedrooms are equally lovely with one that can be made into a twin as required. The beds are big, comfy and made up with quality linens and fluffy duvets to ensure a peaceful night's rest. These two rooms share a large house bathroom which has a big tub and a shower overhead.
In the morning you might like to enjoy your breakfast outside before taking a stroll around Brompton Lakes. It's a lovely way to familiarise yourself with the place and take in all the natural beauty of the area. Complimentary bikes are available and these are a fun way to see everything and explore further afield. You'll find boules if you fancy a game, there's a tennis court for you to enjoy, and fishing is available on site!
Brompton Lakes is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park so you can enjoy many varied walks and cycling routes. For some history and culture head into the nearby market town of Richmond and explore Barnard Castle. You'll find plenty of shops, a great weekly market where you can stock up on food and some excellent restaurants. For a great gastro pub meal head to The Black Bull in Moulton. And if you're in the market for something a little more high-end, Rustique in Richmond is a great choice. If you'd like to enjoy a really special night at the lodge the hosts recommend booking the private dining experience and having a chef come to you!
