Abbotsford’s luxury accommodation, the Hope Scott Wing sleeps up to 16 guests, spread across eight individually styled luxury ensuite bedrooms, making it perfect for extended family holidays or special occasions including weddings, birthdays and anniversaries.
The Wing’s public rooms, including a lavishly decorated sitting room, a quiet reading room, a billiards room, a fully equipped bespoke kitchen and a formal dining room featuring wonderful views over the River Tweed, provide ample space for you to relax and unwind.
You can also enjoy the privacy of the Wing’s private courtyard and patio garden, as well as exclusive after-hours access to Abbotsford’s beautiful Regency Walled Gardens. There are numerous romantic riverside and woodland walks around the estate to be explored and your party will receive free admission to the historic house where you can admire Sir Walter Scott’s magnificent library.
For those wishing to explore the beauty of the surrounding area, there are a multitude of locations and attractions in the Scottish Borders. You can discover the history of the region whilst visiting awe-inspiring castles, captivating abbeys and quaint market towns; explore the picturesque landscape by choosing from a plethora of famous walking trails such as completing sections of the famous Borders Abbey Way; or enjoy an array of outdoor activities available in the area including fishing on the famous banks of the River Tweed, perfecting your swing at one of our local golf courses, clay shooting and alpaca trekking through the Cheviot Hills.
For those wishing to venture a bit further afield, the Hope Scott Wing is only an hour from Scotland’s beautiful capital city. Here you can soak in more of Scotland’s unique history visiting Edinburgh Castle and Sir Walter Scott’s Monument or enjoying one of the fascinating city walking tours. Alternatively, you can shop till you drop along the famous Royal Mile; hike up an extinct volcano, Arthur’s seat, which hosts one of the best views over the city; or be captivated in the National Museum of Scotland.
