You should know
- The woodland is surrounded by a working sheep farm, so unfortunately Honeydown is not suitable for dogs.
- There are five Truffles on site, each spaced around 50 metres apart for privacy.
- Bathrooms and kitchen preparation areas are located in a separate cabin a short walk from each Truffle.
- Honeydown is largely off-grid, with charging points available only in the cabin.
- There is no WiFi, making this the perfect place to switch off and reconnect with nature.
- Mobile phone signal is available for the main UK networks.
- Initial firewood is provided, with additional logs available to purchase on site.
- Bring a torch for evening walks back to your Truffle as the woodland paths are unlit.
- Babies are welcome and children can be accommodated in fold-out beds for an additional charge.

Tucked away in a beautiful area of ancient oak woodland in the heart of Devon, Honeydown is home to five handcrafted wooden Truffles, each offering its own private pocket of peace beneath the trees. Scattered around 50 metres apart throughout the woodland, Heartwood, Dormouse, Moss, Sun Dapple and Hush are designed for couples and small families seeking a slower pace of life, where days are spent reconnecting with nature and evenings are enjoyed around the fire pit beneath the stars.
Each Truffle has its own unique character. Dormouse sits closest to the cabin facilities while still feeling wonderfully secluded, Moss is surrounded by seasonal woodland magic with orchids in spring and scarlet elf cup mushrooms in autumn, Sun Dapple enjoys extra sunlight and views towards neighbouring farmland, while Hush rests beside a beautifully untouched section of woodland that feels particularly peaceful. Heartwood offers the same enchanting woodland setting that has made Honeydown such a special retreat.
Lovingly handcrafted in Devon and assembled amongst the trees, each Truffle provides a cosy and comfortable hideaway. Inside you'll find a solid wooden double bed with a sprung mattress, warm winter duvets, a wood burning stove, upcycled furniture, books, games, soft lighting and plenty of blankets for cosy evenings. Curved windows frame the woodland views, while hammocks outside invite you to slow down and enjoy the sounds of birdsong and rustling leaves.
Outdoor living is at the heart of the Honeydown experience. Every Truffle has its own private cookeaterie, a sheltered outdoor cooking and dining area complete with an Aquaforno BBQ and pizza oven, gas-fired grill, simple gas hob and fire pit. Whether you're cooking pizzas, grilling supper or simply boiling the kettle for a morning coffee, everything you need is provided.
