Reconnect with the natural world with a stay in one of our stunning and rustic-yet-luxury shepherd’s huts. Nestled on the beautiful Breaks Fold Farm in the Nidderdale AONB, and just on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it’s the perfect base to explore the rolling hills and picturesque villages of Yorkshire, before returning home and sinking into your own wood-fired hot tub.
Our shepherd’s huts are ideal for couples who want a simple and comfortable escape from the stresses of modern life, but without losing modern comforts. The cosy huts are nestled in their own private spot on our working farm, surrounded by rolling hills, stunning views, endless night skies and even the odd sheep! In the evenings, relax on the private balcony with a drink while your evening meal cooks on the BBQ fire bowl. Listen to sizzling food and crackling logs as the sun sets over the horizon and as the starry skies take over, slip into the hot tub or wrap up in a blanket around the roaring fire. In the colder months, the fully-fitted kitchen and dining area are perfect for filling hungry bellies after a long day.
When the night comes to a close, head inside the fully equipped shepherd's hut and climb into the full-size double bed. Drift off under thick bedding with the soothing sounds of the countryside all around. Wake up to the dawn chorus refreshed and rejuvenated, before sipping a hot coffee and nibbling a croissant on the balcony. The large walk-in shower and sink area is ideal for freshening up before a day of exploring Yorkshire.
Nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Brakes Fold Farm is your idyllic base to explore the North West. Walkers and cyclists will be in their element with the huge network of footpaths, bridleways and lanes to wander. Explore the rolling hills before stopping for tea and cake in a picturesque village café. The nearby Thruscross Reservoir is within walking distance and is an angler’s dream, while canoeists and kayakers can see the Dales from a new perspective. Further afield, the towns of Skipton and Harrogate offer winding streets, boutique shops, artisan cafes and traditional pubs and restaurants, while Leeds offers the hustle and bustle of a large, modern city.
