Borrowing its name from English rock ‘n’ roll legend and former local resident Hank Marvin, Hank’s Annexe is a luxury home located in Higher Wiscombe, East Devon. The property sleeps two, though there is ample room for entertaining guests both inside and outside. Boasting eclectic décor, a wealth of amenities and sweeping views of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hank’s Annexe is the perfect choice for couples looking for a rural South Western English getaway in style.

Each and every amenity and piece of décor in the Annexe has been chosen to represent both luxury and functional design. From the metal William Holland bateau bath in the bedroom to the exposed wooden beams in the living and dining area, Hank’s Annexe incorporates elements, colours and textures from the natural world that help it feel truly grounded against its rural East Devon backdrop. By combining these features with modern conveniences like its onsite E.V. charging station and digital Touch Stay guide, this property offers a stay that truly ticks all the boxes.

The centrepiece is its combined living/dining/kitchen space. With generous windows looking out over the East Devon countryside, the property is flooded by ample natural light, providing the space with a soft warmth. The kitchen is kitted out with state-of-the-art Neff kitchenware, including an induction hob and oven. You’ll also find that the kitchen is stocked with a wine fridge, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and toaster. In the bedroom, you’ll find the huge bespoke double bed with its steel frame, as well as the striking Will Holland bateau bath. The garden is also home to a top-of-the-line Weber BBQ, which makes for a perfect way to enjoy dinner alfresco on a summer’s evening with Southleigh Valley as your backdrop. And to top it off, you even have access to a luxurious outdoor heated swimming pool!

As if all of these exquisite amenities weren’t enough, Hank’s Annexe is located just outside the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area hosts a wealth of sites of historical, environmental and cultural significance. Explore Bronze Age burial grounds, visit luxury spas, sample traditional local delicacies or go for a horse ride – the area truly has something for everyone.

If you’re up for venturing slightly further you’ll find the Jurassic Coast, which is England’s first ever heritage site and a veritable treasure trove of geological history. Explore over 185 million years of geological history and the dizzying cliffs, sea stacks, fossil forests and arches that the Jurassic Coast is home to. Of particular note is the Undercliff walk, which goes from Axmouth to Lyme Regis; it’s the perfect way to sample the smorgasbord of geological marvels that this stretch of East Devon coastline has on display.
