Immerse yourself with the nature of New Zealand at the Greystone PurePod, located high above an award-winning vineyard set right in the heart of the Waipara Valley. On one side of the PurePod the view stretches across the valley to the Southern Alps, on the other the Teviotdale Hills dramatically rise up.
These cabins, made of heavy duty glass, give guests a truly panoramic view of the breathtaking landscape around them with glass walls on three sides and a glass ceiling and floor. Built in total isolation this truly is a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and relax in a natural environment.
Not that luxury is compromised in the PurePods, with their large, comfortable beds, kitchen equipped with gas hob, pots, pans, plates and cutlery, bathroom with shower and flushing toilet, and outside deck and barbecue. Guests can bring their own supplies, but for those who want to be pampered that little bit further can order the dinner and breakfast packages made from local produce.
Once guests have discovered the exact location of the Greystone PurePod upon booking, the adventure starts when they turn up at the vineyard and private car park. After going over a stile the track winds its way through the bush and among the occasional flock of sheep and huge cabbage trees until it makes its way to the PurePod.
Now in their own private slice of the beautiful countryside, the only company guests may have are a hawk or falcon flying overhead, or the occasional glimpse of workers in the distance picking grapes or pruning on the vineyard.
Many people are happy to simply sit on the deck and take in their unique surroundings in pure tranquillity, but for the more adventurous there are many walking and cycling trails that wind their way through the winery and connect to other wineries and historic farms. Greystone vineyard itself offers wine tours every weekday, with a personal guide showing how it goes from the grape to the bottle. Wine tasting is also on offer to select the perfect tipple to relax in the PurePod with.
