A stunning sea-facing villa on the edge of the Madeiran capital, Funchal. Fonte do Mar has everything you need to enjoy life in this cosmopolitan city. Including four bedrooms, a games room and an incredible outdoor pool, this villa really makes the most of its position with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

In one of island’s most prestigious residential areas, Fonte do Mar is located close to plenty of excellent restaurants, bars and cafés. Funchal is known for its relaxing beach life and cool promenades, and it’s all just a short drive from the villa.

A spacious waterfront terrace with sun loungers, barbecue and dining area surrounds the pool. You can admire the same views from inside too, where a modern living area offers TV, DVD, an iPod dock and Wi-Fi. A fully equipped kitchen in an equally contemporary style leads straight out on to the terrace through patio doors. You have a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine and lots more here.

Upstairs, in addition to a games room and bathroom, you will find four bedrooms. These include two twin rooms, ideal for younger family members, and a double with en suite bath. Then there is the master, the biggest treat of all, with balcony, dressing room and seating area, and a full bathroom with whirlpool bath and shower. All of these rooms are air-conditioned for added comfort.

An upper-level garage takes care of your parking needs, so it will be easy to jump in the car and discover the best of Madeira. Just along the coast at Caniço is the Galomar Lido, at a Blue Flag beach with incredible sea views and plenty of amenities. This area is also popular with visitors for its relaxing seaside walks. In summer, you may catch one of the Caniço Promenade Evenings, with live music and great food and drink to enjoy.

In spring, one of the island’s best-known attractions is the Madeira Flower Festival, a colourful and fragrant even celebrating the island’s prime climate for horticulture – something you are sure to notice the effect of as you travel around Madeira.
