The detail

For groups of family and friends there are few better options than escaping to the East Yorkshire countryside at Foldyard House. Located near Beverley, this beautifully converted, dog-friendly cottage and outbuildings is now an example of modern elegance.

Sleeping up to 16 guests, the house is the perfect option for a special celebration, hen weekend, or similar. Mostly set across the ground floor, there are expansive entertaining rooms ensuring there is plenty of space for everyone. With wooden beams overhead, exposed brickwork, and floor-to-ceiling windows allowing light to flood in, these areas are great for socialising.

The kitchen has a double oven and six-ring ceramic hob, as well as a large island to give more room for preparing. There is also an eight-seater dining table and chairs in the kitchen, as well as an accompanying utility room with washer and dryer. Everyone can eat together in the large dining room overlooking the courtyard garden with its table and chairs seating 16 people.

The sitting room has several large and comfortable sofas and chairs and an open fireplace, while there is also the games room with a snooker table and another open fireplace.

The seven bedrooms are situated across two levels. There are four on the ground floor, two of which have zip and link king size beds and one has an en-suite shower room. The other three bedrooms - one with an en-suite shower room and one with an en-suite the a shower over the bath - can either have a king size or twin beds. Near the kitchen on this level is an additional shower room for those rooms without en-suite.

Moving upstairs reveals the final two bedrooms, which both have three single beds in them. Both are also en-suite, with one having a shower over the bath and the other having a shower cubicle.

Outside is the enclosed courtyard garden and a rock-tiled patio with outdoor table and chairs for alfresco dining. Theres a large gas BBQ supplied with gas and bbq tools, meaning you can enjoy cooking up a feast when the weather's warm.. That added bit of luxury is provided by the six-seater covered hot tub and the large wooden sauna. If you want to head out you're just 10 minutes from the beach, whilst other attractions nearby include boating lakes, a shooting club, golf courses, a polo club and Beverley races.
