The Details...

Put away your preconceptions about camping, and prepare to live outdoors at this 'glamp' site in Devon. Here you'll find three lovingly restored gypsy caravans and a converted farm tip up trailer for you and your group to enjoy, in your own completely secluded meadow, with an idyllic wood and bubbling stream adjacent.

Gather around a real fire in your sheltered, woodland living room and cook up feasts for your group to enjoy around either of the two enormous hand crafted tables. Relax in the hammock, sleep under the stars on the huge day bed or run riot in the woods complete with photograph-inducing rope swing.

The owners can provide everything that you could possibly need- all you need do is book in and bring a toothbrush! There are games, wellies and surfboards for you to borrow as required.

What is really unique about this place is the access to food produced on the farm. There is an on site farm shop where you can purchase meat (lamb and cows are reared on the farm), preserves, fruit, vegetables, soups- basically everything you need for a gourmet glamping break. Alternatively, the owners will cook you delicious meals and deliver them by quad bike. You can also request traditional picnics for those days out at the beach. They really have thought of everything.

In these romantic wagons, you'll find sumptuous bedding, snuggley duvets, towels and fresh flowers. Each wagon has a high double bed with room below for either storage, or an additional adult or childrens beds. An overhead light is provided, as are of course, a traditional wash bowl, jug and blankets, to complete the look. Choose the wider Big Ted if you're tall, Red Rum if you like dark, earthy colours and sheepskins, or Little Gem for a vintage feel. Little Gem and Red Rum both benefit for a wood-burner inside the wagon. Tippin is a new addition, and is a multi functional wagon and can be a living room or bedroom.

There is a new addition of converted trailer, which has been made in to an activity space, perfect for those days when the weather is not so good, and up at the farm the is a games room with table tennis etc.

In your woodland 'living room' you'll find a large fire pit, with iron trivets to make cooking al fresco a breeze. As well as the covered table, big enough for 14, all your cooking paraphernalia is provided, plus a gas stove for that early morning cup of tea or coffee (cafetiere provided!), and a covered bbq area in the unlikely event of rain. You can even enjoy a piping hot outdoor shower that boasts great water pressure! Spectacular views over the valley, and plenty of space to roam, makes this perfect for all ages.

There is so much to do at the farm, from picking your own seasonal fruit and vegetables from the farm's kitchen garden, to collecting your eggs, or watching the bees make honey. Enjoy meeting their pedigree cattle and sheep both visually and culinary. Every September and October provides an opportunity to make cider (or apple juice for the kids). Nearby, wild swimming in the River Taw situated at the bottom of the valley, you'll also find great beaches, National Trust properties, picturesque villages, and of course fantastic, local pubs.

Hen parties are welcome, with delicious home grown and home cooked food hampers provided for you to simply throw on the fire. Activities such as yoga, Pilates, an organised cycle trip to Instow beach with bike hire, male or female life drawing classes, a pottery class, paddle boarding, a surfing or sea kayaking session, shooting and quad biking, or even river and sea fishing can all be arranged.

"Had the most amazing time at fisherton farm!!! Had my sisters hen party there for a long weekend. The money is so worth it, you get to stay in these beautiful gypsy caravans. Jemma and Gavin were so helpful leading up to the event and on the weekend. There’s a campfire to sit around and keep warm. We were blessed with gorgeous weather but seemed you could still manage without but they brought us fresh bread, eggs, butter, milk the works (not free but still a good price) and they made us fresh scones which came with clotted cream and jam. Would definitely recommend for families or parties up to 14."
