The detail

Fern Lodge is a vibrant holiday cottage designed for pure relaxation. The rural beauty of Sussex is reflected in the design of this home, from the leafy designer wallpapers to the skilfully hand-painted murals, stunning interiors and handmade furniture. Bird song will surround you from your first drink on the balcony gazing out towards the South Downs to bubbles in the hot tub as dusk falls. Inside or outside, this is the perfect place for those who love beauty and creativity.

The bedrooms are elegantly furnished with a combination of rustic chic and sumptuous style. The master bedroom up the stairs has a canopied ceiling and rich, warm fabrics which create an enticing space and if you step out onto the balcony you can fully enjoy the expansive views over to the South Downs. Downstairs there is an equally luxurious double room with timber beams and woodland wallpaper. In addition, two further guests can drift off to sleep looking up at the night sky mural painted above the alcove double bed, curtained for privacy and cosiness. Two bathrooms with walk-in showers and gorgeous fittings complete the high-end designer feel.

The spacious, open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is a wonderfully sociable space to gather together with friends or family. Floor-to-ceiling patio doors allow natural light to flood in and create a relaxing place to lounge in the deep leather sofas around a wood-burning stove and chat or watch TV. The modern, fully-equipped kitchen is amply supplied with everything you need to create delicious meals which you can share around the rustic dining table while taking in the peaceful views over the garden.

Fern Lodge boasts a large, dog-secure, enclosed garden, with a well-maintained lawn and a large social decking area comfortably furnished with outdoor sofas and swing seats. A bubbling hot tub is waiting there for you and your friends to crack open the bubbly and jump in, or why not fire up the BBQ to grill something tasty or light up the fire pit to toast marshmallows and tell stories as the sun goes down? From a gate in the garden, you can look out over the wildlife meadow, spotting deer and rabbits, owls and pheasants.

You may not want to leave your cottage but if you do, you'll be perfectly placed to explore the rich culture and gastronomic delights of Chichester, glamorous Goodwood and the South Downs. The South Downs National Park is perfect for walkers and cyclists alike or if you want to enjoy a day by the sea, the stunning beach of West Wittering is close too.
