Embers Barn, once a forge on a busy working farm, is now beautifully designed accommodation for groups of up to 12 guests. Set amidst the beautiful landscape of rural Oxfordshire, it’s a great base for exploring Oxford or the Cotswolds. Wander down country lanes and paths for a pub lunch before heading out into the Vale of White Horse to stroll through charming villages or hike to the top of hills for spectacular views. After a busy day exploring, relax in the garden with a glass of wine or enjoy a dip in the hot tub before a big family dinner in the wonderfully spacious open-plan living area.
The interior of the barn has been thoughtfully furnished to combine elements of classic country style with a contemporary touch. This results in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere inviting you to make yourself at home right away. You enter the barn via the huge open-plan living space which is flooded with natural light thanks to the full-height windows. You can open up the three sets of French doors out onto the terrace on warmer days, extending your living space even further. At one end of the room is the fully-equipped kitchen with the living area at the other. In the centre of the room, a long refectory-style table is perfect for dinners with the whole group. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to whip up anything from quick breakfasts to extravagant dinners and after you’ve eaten, sink into the comfy sofas in front of the open fire.
You’ll find the bedrooms along a corridor to the right of the kitchen. All six rooms have ensuites and these have all been decorated with their own set of coloured tiles and have underfloor heating. The bedrooms have Dormy House zip and link beds, offering plenty of flexibility for families and groups of friends.
Outside, Embers Barn has a private terrace where you’ll find a gas BBQ and plenty of outdoor dining furniture for alfresco meals. There’s a cedar clad hot tub, the perfect spot to relax while soaking up the scenery. There’s also plenty of space for the kids to run around with lawns and a ground-level trampoline. At the front of the barn, there’s a spacious courtyard shared with another barn and a converted tractor shed which is now home to games such as table football, giant Jenga and pool.
You’ll find plenty to see and explore in the area with Oxford, Burford and dozens of charming Cotswold towns in easy reach. Stroll through historic market towns, visit stately homes and go for long walks in the countrysde. Blenheim Palace and Buscot Park are both nearby, as are the museums and beautiful architecture of historic Oxford. If you fancy picking up the pace a bit, head to Cotswold Water Park for all kinds of water sports or set out on your bike or on foot to explore the Thames Valley.
