Minster-on-sea, Isle of Sheppey
Luxurious cottage in the heart of Elmley Nature Reserve, the perfect countryside escape for family gatherings, large groups or retreats.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 2 nights
Elmley Cottage, tucked away in a nature reserve on the Isle of Sheppey, is the perfect place for a rural escape for a large group. The cottage has been furnished to create a relaxed and calming atmosphere, with a gentle colour palette, lots of natural light and open plan living space. It is therefore popular as a destination for those just looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a couple of days.
The cottage can sleep up to 10 guests, making it a great choice for families or groups of friends. There are four double bedrooms and one twin, all thoughtfully furnished and with stunning views over the Reserve. Two of the double rooms can be converted into twins, offering flexible sleeping arrangements to suit requirements.
The kitchen, dining area and living room are all open plan, creating a large social space for everyone to gather at mealtimes or just to relax in the evenings. Large windows on all sides and the location at the centre of the Reserve mean you can do a spot of bird watching from the comfort of the sofa.
The recent refurbishment means that the cottage is kitted out with modern appliances and facilities, such as wonderful copper fittings in the bathrooms and a huge range-style cooker in the kitchen.
A carefully thought out utility room has a washing machine and provides space for those muddy wellies after a walk in the Reserve. There is space outside for BBQs and games, helping you make the most of your spectacular surroundings.
The Reserve itself provides both spectacular scenery and an essential haven for all sorts of wildlife. Take a stroll along one of the trails and you’ll be surprised at how much life you stumble across. Hares can be seen playing and springing across the meadows, birds of prey circle overhead and water birds enjoy the many pools and ponds.
If you want to venture a little further afield and explore more of the Isle of Sheppey and the surrounding area, you’ll find that this is a beautiful part of the coast. Spend the day on Sheerness Beach or take a stroll along Saxon Shore Way and soak up the views from the cliffs.
