Nestled in the quaint village of Cubar, Edge Cottage has plenty of charm and is the perfect self-catered stay for guests looking for a base to explore the Peak District.
A wonderful cottage with plenty of space and cosy furnishings, the interior of Edge Cottage has been finished in contemporary style with solid oak flooring fitted throughout the property. Little touches make for a luxurious, comfortable stay that's suitable for families or medium-sized groups.
The property’s two stylish bedrooms sleep up to six guests. The master room is fitted with a super king-size bed and luxury bedding. The second bedroom includes a pair of twin beds, which can be converted into a super king double. There is a full size bunk bed in this room also which you are able to add a bed space on per extra guest (for up to 2 additional people)- at an extra cost.
Fresh towels and luxury soap can be found for each guest on arrival in the bright family bathroom. The washroom is a modern contemporary suite comprising of a shower over bath, wash basin and WC – there’s even a little stepping stool so that children can brush their teeth independently.
Whether guests choose to relax, entertain or play - the main living area of Edge Cottage is designed to keep families together in one space. The well-equipped kitchen is large and centres itself around an island on which guests can prepare meals together. The kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment needed for a self-catered holiday and the dining area follows through to the main seating and rest corner – here guests can gather themselves on plush soft-seating around the centre-piece hearth in which a wood-burning stove sits.
Outside, the pretty cottage garden is an absolutely idyllic spot to enjoy a morning coffee from spring onwards. Here there is an al-fresco style dining area which can comfortably sit six guests, and a small relaxation corner to the back of the garden.
The best thing about Edge Cottage has to be its superb location. Within the small village of Cubar, there are enough fine dining restaurants and pubs to keep guests spoiled for choice. From the cottage’s doorstep, keen walkers can take advantage of many beautiful walking routes – the well-trodden paths of Curbar Edge, Froggatt Edge and Baslow Edge are just a few options. With its prime location, guests are also only a short drive away from local historic attractions including Chatsworth House or the stately home of Haddon Hall.
