The Detail...
These spacious and comfy yurts offer you a beautiful and peaceful place to stay where you can truly immerse yourself in the wonders of nature. At Eco Retreats, which sits in the middle of one of Wales’s largest forests, you can fill your lungs with fresh country air and listen out for the sounds of wildlife all around you. Located in the Dyfi Valley this beautiful retreat is surrounded by treelined mountains, offering you postcard views in every direction. The retreat is totally off-grid and wifi-free, offering a unique opportunity to escape from the pressures of modern-day living and technology, and reconnect with each other as you relax into the rhythm of the forest.
Each yurt is set in its own private space apart from other guests – there are only 5 units spread over 50 acres. Inside they have a double bed, hand-crafted wood-burning stove (all firewood provided) and kitchen area with cooking facilities and equipment. These romantic living spaces all have their own wood-fired outdoor bathtub allowing you the chance to do some alfresco bathing beneath the trees. Guests also have a private shower (fed by fresh spring water) and eco-loo, and an outdoor fire and seating area. At night, the yurts are lit by tealights in lanterns, and the stars – away from the light pollution of the city – are breathtaking.
With so much abundant beauty nearby you’ll want to spend days exploring the mountains and forests that this part of Wales has to offer. Put your hiking boots on and stretch your legs as you venture out into the inspiring scenery. The site has stunning walks and there are a host of other activities – walking, biking, beaches, culture, markets – within a 30-60 minute drive of the retreat. Be sure to visit the spectacular mountain Cadair Idris that’s located nearby or some stunning beaches including Aberdyfi to the west and Ynyslas dunes to the south. Other fantastic things to do nearby include King Arthur's Labyrinth, Corris Craft Centre and the RSPB bird reserve at Ynys Hir.
