The detail
This striking log cabin, tucked away by a lake in the mountains of Colorado offers groups of family or friends a delightful place to stay. The home is full of character inside and offers gorgeous views outside. The cabin is located 22 miles north of Durango and boasts a spectacular, secluded setting. You and your loved ones can rest and unwind surrounded by mountains and striking wilderness, as well as the amazing San Juan National Forest. After days spent hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, or horseback riding, return back to this supremely comfy, cosy cabin and spend evenings socialising with your group, long into the night.
When the weather's warm sit out on the spacious deck. This is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee in one of the Adirondack chairs whilst taking in the breathtaking mountain view. If you wish to try your hand at some alfresco cooking you can also fire up the gas BBQ before dine out in the sunshine at the picnic table.
Stepping inside, the cabin features giant floor-to-ceiling windows that perfectly frame the amazing views. There is also a lovely period decor throughout as well as historic photos and artifacts on display. The cabin also features gorgeous hardwood floors throughout and woodburning fireplaces that ensure you stay toasty and warm all year round.
Chefs can whip up a delicious feast in the fully-equipped kitchen, which features an antique wood stove that’s been refurbished to work as an electric cooktop and an under-mount electric oven in the kitchen island.
After dinner head to the lounge and get comfy on the leather sofa and light the fire before enjoying a movie night on the huge TV. This is also a great spot to relax with a good book as you stop only to gaze out at that delightful view.
When bedtime beckons the three comfortable rooms await. Two of the bedrooms sit on the main floor and one is located upstairs. There's also a sleeping loft that we know the kids will love.
