Driftwood Corner is the perfect base for a relaxing seaside stay and has everything families could need to keep every member content, even the pet dog. Guests arriving at the house step onto the gravel driveway, which has plenty of space for two vehicles, and take in the sea air, hear the distinctive sound of the gulls overhead and feel no-doubt inspired about the coming days ahead.
Settle into the lovely kitchen and dining room for a cup of tea and take a moment after a tiring journey. This sociable area has a breakfast bar as well as a large wooden dining table with corner benches covered in soft cushions. Modern appliances are complimented with reclaimed timbers and stunning pieces of driftwood which have been transformed into feature walls, cupboards and unique light fittings. Make the most of the fresh local seafood and cook tasty suppers in the well-equipped wooden kitchen.
After dinner, gather in the welcoming living room around the impressive Inglenook fireplace, watch the flames flicker in the wood burner and sink into the soft velvet sofa. Modern Ercol-style lounge chairs sit on a cosy rug by the quirky coffee table constructed from reclaimed pallets in this bright, inviting room. Leading directly off the living room is a snug family area with a comfy sofa, squishy bean bags and a wall-mounted, flat-screen television. The wooden bookshelves are filled with classic story books, rows of succulents and a good selection of board games to enjoy, ideal for chilly evenings.
French doors open out from the living room on to the sandstone patio and garden area, where, during the warmer weather, guests will love eating, playing and relaxing on the lawned, sun trap garden. During the summer months, fire up the barbecue and grill the local catch over the coals and make use of the two good-sized outdoor dining tables which sit underneath a pretty pergola decorated in enchanting fairy lights which gently illuminate late nights.
And, when the sea air tires even the most energetic visitor, the bedrooms are no less impressive. There are two ensuite rooms, the master bedroom has a super king bed and the second bedroom has a king sized. There are two further twin bedrooms, both of which have two single beds, and a spacious modern family bathroom with a large bathtub and over the bath shower. All the rooms have been impeccably styled with neutral colour schemes, window blinds, wooden floorboards and quality mattresses and bed linens.
The house is located in the seaside village of East Preston, guests will no doubt want to spend the day on the beach and watersports tuition and hire can be found nearby at Littlehampton's Beach Club which is also a great place to grab a drink and watch the sunset. Historic Arundel and Angmering Park make good destinations for day trips.
