Dovedale Manor, located near the pretty village of Tissington in the south of the Peak District National Park, offers spacious accommodation for large groups looking to explore the stunning natural beauty of the area. The building was once used as a pub but has been beautifully renovated to cater for up to 38 guests, making it perfect for get-togethers with large groups of friends or extended family. After waking up to the peace and quiet of the Peak District, head out to explore the charming villages nearby or go hiking along scenic trails that wind through the hills and dales. In the evenings, gather everyone together for dinner at the Manor's huge dining table, sharing stories of the day's adventures and planning tomorrow's activities.
Step inside the Manor and make your way through to the huge open plan living space. It feels bright and spacious with high ceilings complete with the original timber beams and sections of exposed brick walls. There are seven comfy sofas to choose from in the lounge area with underfloor heating to keep you toasty in the colder months and air conditioning on hand for the summer. This space becomes the social hub of the house, however, there is a separate games room equipped with board games and seating if you fancy a quieter atmosphere.
The fully-equipped contemporary kitchen has been designed with large groups in mind, featuring multiple ovens, fridges and dishwashers. The long dining table can comfortably seat 40 guests, perfect for a celebratory dinner with friends and family. When the sun is shining, open up the bi-fold doors onto the garden and whip up a feast on the BBQ, eating at the outdoor dining table while soaking up the scenery.
There are 13 bedrooms in total, all with ensuite bathrooms and all tastefully decorated with a peaceful night's sleep in mind. Eight of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor with five more upstairs under the eaves of the house. Most of the rooms can be set up as doubles or twins and some have additional singles, offering plenty of flexibility for groups and you'll find fresh linen and fluffy towels waiting for you.
When it's time to head out and explore, you'll be spoilt for choice with all sorts of activities on your doorstep. Start with a stroll to the nearby village of Tissington, with its pretty cottages and magnificent Jacobean Hall where you can stop for lunch. The surrounding countryside of the Peak District offers plenty of outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling and horseback riding. Go for a walk in Dovedale, making your way across the river via the famous stepping stones. If you fancy some watersports, Carsington Water is just 20 minutes away where you can try sailing, kayaking and fishing.
