The Detail...
This pretty little cottage looks like something plucked from a fairytale land. It’s settled right in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in the picturesque village of Maentwrog. The building itself is a Grade II listed former primary school and is surrounded by beautiful countryside on the banks of the
River Dwyryd.
The cottage is luxuriously decorated with oak floorings, 2 leather sofas that face the log fire. The fitted kitchen makes cooking a romantic meal for two at home an absolute pleasure - it comes with high-spec appliances such as an induction hob, granite worktops, a Belfast sink, large fridge/freezer and even subtle mood lighting. The bathroom is lavish with a tiled wet room, ceiling shower and a decadent Jacuzzi.
The bedroom is of course just as well appointed - with a king size double bed, elegant bedside tables with matching lamps, luxurious curtains and Egyptian Sheets that finish the room beautifully. As well as the log fire - there is under floor heating throughout the cottage.
The cottage is in the village of Maentwrog - which though small is absolutely stunning and there is plenty to do in the area. There are two traditional pubs in the area - both of which sell food, Just outside the cottage. There are a number of walks that will take you through some of Snowdonia’s most captivating scenery - and Mount Snowdon is just 30 minutes away - should you wish to ascend some 1000 metres above sea level. If you enjoy the water then you should take a trip to the Tryweryn River to try a little white water rafting - or if you prefer to stay dry, perhaps have a go at mountain biking in Bleunau.
When it comes to doing your shopping - then Porthmadog - just 10 minutes away from the cottage - will have everything that you need. If you feel like a day trip - then try Harlech that has a number of beaches, a castle and even a golf course - should the desire take you. Don’t miss the incredibly charming Ffestionig steam train, which passes close to the village.
