The historic Dollarbeg Castle is an an extra special family or group getaway, located in the picturesque Dollarbeg Park in Clackmannanshire. The castle has been transformed into a luxurious apartment, where you can enjoy its grand interiors, elegant décor and wonderful views from every window. As well as three gorgeous bedrooms, the apartment boasts a private roof terrace and a cosy cinema room. On arrival, guests are treated to a complimentary bottle of Champagne and a welcome basket.
The apartment has been fully refurbished with modern conveniences, stylishly decorated and still maintains its traditional features, such as turreted corners. Guests can relax and unwind in the chic living area or in the cinema room to watch the latest blockbuster on the 75inch TV. A spiral staircase leads to the roof terrace, the highest point of the building and the perfect place to enjoy a drink whilst taking in the views of the Ochil Hills. The kitchen comes equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, and food can be enjoyed around the marble dining table or at the breakfast bar. Three spacious bedrooms - two king size (one with an ensuite bathroom) and one twin – are all fitted with comfy bespoke beds to ensure a great night’s sleep.
The castle is situated on the outskirts of the village of Dollar and is surrounded by acres of private gardens, woodlands, and the scenic Ochil Hills, which are great for hiking. Dollar is within walking distance and home to several shops, cafes and eateries, including a popular pub and bistro restaurant. Just outside the village is the Japanese Garden at Cowden, which has been wonderfully designed and is steeped in history.
Castle Campbell is three miles away in Dollar Glen, renowned for its beauty and fantastic views, with deep gorges, cascading waterfalls and woodland trails to explore. For keen golfers, there are over 30 courses all within an hour’s drive, including the world-famous St Andrews and Gleneagles venues. If golf isn’t your cup of tea, there are a wide variety of other activities to try out in the surrounding area, such as motorsport, shooting and horse riding. The towns of Kinross, Dunfermline and Stirling are all within a 30-minute drive away and have plenty of places to eat, drink and visit.
