The detail

A calming oasis in the heart of Paris, the beautiful Devolu is a truly impressive property in its own right. Its proximity to the sights of the most-visited city on the continent is pretty pleasing too, with the Eiffel Tower, the Chateau de Versailles and Disneyland all within easy reach.

Devolu feels like home from the moment you step onboard. For most of the year, that’s what it is: the four-bedroomed boat is owned by a British author, who has ensured you will be just as comfortable. With the sun streaming in from 360 degrees, huge French windows open out from the living area to a spacious terrace, with a table and chairs to enjoy breakfast each morning or a leisurely dinner and drink in the evening. This split-level deck also has a gas plancha and outside lighting for those long nights of wine and conversation.

Inside, the comfy sofas are a great place to watch the world go by, in a lounge equipped with satellite TV and a DVD library. A little further back, the open-plan kitchen with breakfast bar is sleek in design and packed with enough treats and appliances to keep any keen cook happy. Through frosted glass doors, you will find an impressive dining area. With seating for eight at the dining table, plush carpets and soft lighting, this is a more secluded space while still enjoying views out over the river.

On the lower level, Devolu’s sleeping quarters include an enormous master with en suite hammam-style tiled bathroom, where you’ll find a bath for two and open shower. The second bedroom is also a double, and the remaining two single rooms, one of which can be converted, are ideal for children. Another bathroom serves these… you will be amazed how much space you can enjoy onboard.

Devolu is in a great location to go and see the city. Around 15 minutes into town, all the landmarks are close by, with a tram stop just a few metres’ walk. Moored away from the tourist boats, it’s on a calmer stretch of the Seine letting you truly relax and appreciate the beauty of Paris.
