The details
This marvellous and spacious home in rural Perthshire offers up to 15 guests a peaceful base in which to catch up and unwind together. The home sits amidst the wild beauty of Highland Perthshire, where heather-covered hills roll into the distance. Deanshaugh is designed with space, comfort and style in mind, ensuring you have the perfect base for hanging out with family and friends.
When you arrive, drop your bags off in your room and gather in the cosy lounge where you can open a bottle of wine and catch up with your nearest and dearest. Light the fireplace and stay toasty and warm as you chat the night away and plan the next day’s adventures.
If you fancy some friendly competition, you can head to the games room where there’s a pool table and table tennis. You even have your own private gym, for a bracing morning workout, and if you want to rest weary muscles after, you can hop into your own private whirlpool bath, sauna – or both.
When it comes to mealtimes, you have a superb kitchen that is wonderfully equipped with everything you’ll need to whip up feasts for your group. This space is a joy to cook in, whether you’re preparing a giant celebratory dinner or a quick, casual breakfast. And when dinner’s ready, serve it up in the spacious dining room with a grand table that seats your entire group and large windows and double doors that open up onto the picturesque garden.
On warm days, head outside after dinner and while away your evening enjoying a drink as the sun begins to set. Out here, you’ll find a peaceful patio with some alfresco dining furniture and a BBQ, along with a giant lawn that kids and grownups alike will love. Take your lunch outside, whilst gazing out at the rolling hill views.
On top of this, you also have the spacious converted garage, which is perfect for yoga retreats, creative workshops or even an intimate wedding celebration.
When night falls, there are six bedrooms on offer - five doubles and one larger sixth that sleeps four. The bedrooms have all been designed for comfort, and offer amazing views of the surrounding scenery, alongside fab ensuite bathrooms for added privacy.
Though blissfully peaceful, Deanshaugh is surprisingly well connected, within easy reach of the Central Belt and perfectly placed for exploring the best of Highland Perthshire. Wander the scenic trails around Dunkeld, browse its charming indie shops or lose yourself in the ancient woodland of The Hermitage, where red squirrels and rushing waterfalls await. And for a taste of something special, head to Glenturret, Scotland’s oldest working whisky distillery, for a tour (and a wee dram, of course).
