Darach is a beautifully quaint home in rural Perthshire that offers an abundance of rustic charm and stylish decor. Ideal for your next break with family and friends, this warm and welcoming home offers lovely views of the surrounding scenery and a superb location a stone’s throw from the shores of Loch Tummel.
Darach is surrounded by wonderful greenery, with an abundance of trees dotted all around. You can make the most of this lovely setting by sitting out on your private wrap-around deck, where comfy armchairs and a firepit offer a fantastic spot to unwind in peace. There’s also an alfresco dining setup here, for summer lunches, and some comfy sofas where you can enjoy an evening drink.
You can also make the most of the views from the cosy lounge seating in the lounge-diner, which offers a great spot to unwind with a good book and a nice warm cuppa. And the spacious dining area has sliding glass doors that connect you to the surrounding scenery as you eat, whilst a wood-burner keeps things toasty and warm. When it comes to meal preparation, the home’s kitchen is fully equipped with premium appliances, so you have everything you need to cook hearty breakfasts, picnic lunches and grand dinner feasts.
Before bed, head to the wonderful, botanical-themed family bathroom where a deluxe, free-standing bath offers you the chance to enjoy an indulgent soak. Then, head to bed in one of the two fantastic bedrooms, one of which is a twin (but can be configured as a double on request) and the other a king size double. Both rooms are lovingly decorated and furnished to guarantee a peaceful night’s sleep, and the master king room also has big sliding glass doors that open up onto the deck.
One of the true highlights of a stay at Darach is the incredible location on the edge of the loch. You’re a short stroll from your own private beach, meaning you can unwind by the water’s edge in tranquility, or go for a nice afternoon swim with your loved ones to cool off in the summer sunshine. You can also take to the water in a kayak or simply wander its shores birdwatching.
If you venture further afield, there’s lots to see and do in the surrounding countryside. Nestled in Scotland’s “Big County”, rural Perthshire brims with adventure and charm. Wander ancient woodland trails like The Hermitage and Faskally, amid towering trees and dramatic waterfalls. Hike iconic routes such as the Cateran Trail or climb the misty slope of Schiehallion for panoramic Highland views. Taste history and whisky at Glenturret or Gleneagles distilleries and discover regal heritage at Scone Palace or explore Drummond Castle’s spectacular formal gardens.
