On the banks of the glassy, picturesque Loch Fyne, one of the most beautiful bodies of water in Western Scotland, stands Crispie Lodge, a majestic cottage with views out over the loch, reaching the Mull of Kintyre. With private gardens sloping down to the shores of the Loch, where guests have access to a powerboat and complementary tank of fuel, the house is elegant, comfortable, and luxurious.
On the ground floor you’ll find the first bedroom, with twin beds and an en-suite full bathroom, ideal for guests with limited mobility. Across the hallway, double doors open onto a large sitting room, the perfect communal space for friends and family to congregate around the wood-burning stove (with free logs provided) or opposite the SKY enabled television with integrated DVD player.
French doors open off this room onto a substantial timber deck which runs along the front of the house. This expansive platform is a wonderful place to sit on the rattan all-weather furniture, and take in the long, lingering sunsets over the loch, as you drink a glass of wine and unwind with your guests after a long day of hiking or swimming. There is also a barbecue, should you feel like cooking up an al fresco meal to enjoy on the decking or the substantial grounds.
Back inside, this floor also contains a stunning conservatory, with a state-of-the-art hot tub which enjoys panoramic views out over the loch. Next door, a high-end modern kitchen comes with a fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher, in addition to a high-end oven and hob, to ensure that a party of eight can eat well every night, and not worry about the washing up. An airy, light-filled dining room seats eight people in style. You’ll also find a cloakroom, a utility room and a loo on this floor.
Upstairs, all three bedrooms benefit are en-suite, meaning there won’t be a rush on the bathroom in the morning. The master bedroom is breathtaking, with a double bed, wood panelled bathroom with bath, and French doors opening out onto a private balcony with views over the loch, a gorgeous vista whatever the season or weather. The other two bedrooms have twin beds, en-suite shower rooms enviable views; the Arran-facing room also benefits from a walk-in wardrobe.
With direct, easy access down to your own private beach, with a jetty and powerboat moored there for your use, Crispie Lodge is the ultimate Highlands getaway for large families or groups of friends to spend a long weekend on the Loch. Between driftwood bonfires and lengthy sunset-illuminated meals, you’ll feel at ease and rejuvenated by the time you leave this beautiful spot.
