The Details...

Ireland's ancient east offers a wealth of history, natural beauty and traditional culture. The Cottages at Laytown is a complex of six picturesque cottages situated on a picturesque beach, which offers six miles of glorious windswept sands. The cosy, comfy Cottages really are set in the perfect location from which to explore this magical part of Ireland.

These 300 year-old characterful properties sit directly on the beach and share pretty sheltered gardens. Thatched cottages, stone walls, exposed beams and open fires, the cottages are full of traditional features and decorated in cosy cottage style with traditional quilts, farmhouse kitchens and roses around the door.

Rose cottage, originally a fisherman's cottage, sleeps four people in two en-suite rooms. It boasts an Inglenook fireplace and large window seat - the most wonderful spot for taking in the magnificent scenery from the warmth and comfort of the cottage.

Little Orchard Cottage is a pretty thatched property which sleeps five in three bedrooms, it has vaulted oak beams, wooden floors and a pine kitchen. It boasts wonderful views of both the sea and the gardens.

For couples wanting to getaway and spend quality time together, Honeymoon Cottage is perfect. Pretty and cosy, furnished with solid pine and floral soft furnishings will leave guests relaxed and rejuvenated. It is the ideal cottage to snuggle up in after those long, romantic sunset strolls on the beach.

The award-winning Thatcher's Rest Cottage is a picture-postcard offering with large hanging baskets bursting with floral arrangements swaying in the sea breeze. Inside, it is airy and bright, traditional and stylish, renovated to a high standard and able to accommodate six guests in three bedrooms.

For a delightful stay with direct sea views, Apple Loft is the ideal self-catering option for for four people. It is equipped with everything you need for a unforgettable holiday. Pretty Garden Cottage boasts a wonderful 'secret garden' location, amongst the organic flowers and foliage of the lovely gardens. It sleeps up to four people.

Venture beyond the garden gate and there is plenty to see and do with beach cafes, coastal strolls and wonderful river walks within The Boyne Valley. History buffs will be pleased to know that nearby is the UNESCO World Heritage site Newgrange, which is the site of The Battle of Boyne.

One of Irelands oldest town's, Drogheda, is a ten minute drive away, with over 50 pubs it's the place to enjoy Ireland's famous nightlife. Clogherhead, a pretty fishing village with a blue-flag winning beach is also nearby.
